now i know sort of how to tune a 115BHP Duratec Diesel engine from a Ford but what options do i have with a PD130 engine?

Blanking EGR Valve?

A good start to modding a PD130 is to delete the EGR (or turn it down with VCDS), fit a panel filter (K&N would be my choice) and a stage 1 remap. You're up Yorkshire way... I've heard RS Tuning in Leeds are good.

Honestly, your going to think the FR is a rocket at first so i'd just hold off the performance mods just now lol

well i know a mate with a PD130 vRS Fabia running 169bhp with stage 1 remap & a pipercross induction filter.

Thinking remap from a local (however very good) remaping specialist which will take it up to the 169bhp on its own. Then while im doing that fit an induction kit (or panel) - which is better? ive always felt (personally) that a induction kit is better for performance rather than a panel filter - however whats the best brand?

EGR valve...block it/delete it? - explain how i would go about doing that? i know on the mondeo its a case of either getting a kit off eBay to delete it...or fitting a plate to block it.

Then intercooler? Use a well known name such as Forge or fit a 'non'brand name? Also while looking underneath the FR there was (what looked like) a intercooler/radiator - what is it??

oil cooler. I'd always use well known branded parts myself tbh.

That seems quite a restrained map, usually PD130's stage 1 map to 170 - 185BHP. Depends what you want i suppose, BHP or Torque!

A well placed Cold air induction kit is best for performance. Panel filters just improve flow.

EGR delete is just a blanking plate.

An intercooler is an intercool at the end of the day, a forge one will be higher quality therefore less likely to blow a boost pipe, leek etc..

Ok cheers guys for all the advice, really appreciate it :)

What's the most a PD130 has ever produced?? If your saying a stage 1 can kick out around 180bhp it must be in the mid 200bhp??

So by the sounds of it I should consider an induction kit, Forge Intercooler, stage 1 remap - what about an exhaust?

Also thinking of getting coilovers (going to make this car a pocket rocket ;). Any particular brand?? I know on ford they recommend Eibach springs so what do SEAT recommend??

Mate of mine has 280 out of his and about 420lb/ft of torque. It's an absolute monster and it defines sleeper!

Here's his thread http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?t=148538

185bhp from a stage 1 map on a PD130?? I doubt it. 170bhp is more realistic.

Nice car though Marksy.. Nice step up from the Ibiza, to Mondeo to this :) As Ross (rf860) said though, I'd get used to the standard power first rather than just jump in at the deep end with the mods.

well my mate with the 56plate fabia went to the company that im thinking of going too and remaped it up to 169bhp (170bhp basically) and about an increase of 80N/m of torque

Well a pal of mine got 185BHP from a stage 1 on his 2008 FR TDi

Sounds about right! An increase in 80lb/ft torque would mean he would have 310lb/ft... I'd get that limited to 300lb/ft by the mapper just to be on the safe side :) (The clutch is only rated to 300lb/ft)
