Where can i get a tool for removing the maf sensor from the mousing?I have a set of security bits but they are all six sided and the maf screws are five sided.I dont want to damage the screws so i want the proper tool rather than a bodge

it is a tamper proof torx socket you need T20 i think off the top of my head. if you want to clean it don't bother it doesnt work, its giving out a low signal so all the cleaning in the world wont make it better. Replace it!!

dont want to clean it .I have an old maf that i want to modify by remove the mesh from to increase air flow .I want to be able to swap the sensor from my present maf to the modified maf housing

i just used a pair of mole grips just enough to grip the screw and twist out without causing any damage. then used my fingers to screw back in and the mole grips for the last half a turn. worked a treat.

hope this helps

halfords sell them under the laser brand. It comes on a strip of various sized sockets. the exact size you want is a TS25. Its similar to hex but not the same. It is star shaped with a hole in the middle. Expect to spend £10.

why do you remove the plastic grille in front? MAF use that to straighten the airflow to get a correct reading... no?

Going to experiment with air flow and vag com.Others have removed the mesh and found no problems, but have noticed greater air flow.I intend to leave the fine metal grill in place and just remoove the plasic ones on each end of the maf
