Universal FMIC with pics

Evening all

Well tonight, actually yesterday we fitted a universal FMIC to my mates mapped stage 2 LCR. We started at half 5 and finished just before midnight lol. Its a universal core and very good quality. Here are a few pics. The difference after we fitted and took it for a rag was amazing, it just seemed to pull so much harder from 4k onwards, cant wait to get my fmic. Anyway heres a few pics

Got the bumper off after about 15 mins

Next was to line the fmic up and get the right height

Then we test fitted the intercooler pipes from charge pipe to throttle body to make sure they fit

Then the intercooler to throttle body pipes were test fitted and sorted out, also the mounting brackets to attatch the intercooler to the crash bar were made

This shows the intercooler all fitted and a view of how we mounted it, nice and securely, not budging at all

And the last pics are with the bumper fitted

Looks great and reassuring that more people are giving it a go!

Any chance you could detail a list of what's needed to do this and where you got the bits from please? I'm keen to do it but unsure where to start.

Looks smart mate. I was going to order a large universal one but just been made redundant so wont be happening for a while now! If the fmic is universal was all the pipe work universal too? Did you just use a variety of angled piping etc

I hope i will be able to make that as well. Adam - when you will be making yours could you please do photos and try to make a guide for us LC owners :D? Also a list of everything thats needed to fit it properly would be great. Thanks.

I am not sure of the size of this core, all i know is its much thicker than the standard forge one. The same as nevs one will be just as good. Then you need two 76-60mm reducers for the intercooler. Last bit, the black pipes were ordered from forge, these are the same pipes they use of the cupra r fmic. Total cost of everything was around £200
