thanx flapper, nice to hear that from you ;)

btw chrome brake reservoir cap fitted, oil catch tank arriving soon (hopefully)

this weekend changing the IC hoses for blue, start to 'polish' the black flange going from kompressor to airfilter, possibly fit polished inlet.

Problem i am having atm though which i do not fully understand is flat battery in the early morning. I leave for work at 05:00 and the last 2 days the car wouldn't even tick over; no power at all coming from battery. Then i jump it, to get it running, and get to work. About 9 hours later when i leave work its still fine. In the evening it also starts fine, but then next morning same problem all over??
Just now, after having jumped it again this morning, driving to and from work I took the battery out and the green indicator light is still green. Put it on a rapid charger I have (powered by 220 v) and it immediately said its completely full at 13.2 volts (12 volt battery)

Does this mean the car is 'leaking' power somewhere? How do i go about testing this? btw, the thing that charges the battery when driving (is that the alternator??) is fine I tested it.

any help would be great

actually i am interested in what setup + map it's using to be honest and must admit when i saw the title i thought it was gonna be the G lader or whatever they called it so nice to see a Merc Eaton, what size is it ?

flap, 2 good questions there; infact I too want the answers to them lol

The guy i bought the car off only had it 3 months, so now after a lot of searching I finally found the guy that actually did the engine transplant. So hoping he can tell me the map. As for kompressor I'll have a look at it when I take off the flange tomorrow/sunday to see which one it is.

oh and setup is pretty much what i named in first post:

group A exhaust
equal length runners (spaghetti or do you not say that in english?)
Eaton kompressor (will let you know which one shortly)
map (unknown but working on it ;) must say i am slightly sceptical though as its only running 0.5 bar whereas oem G lader runs at 0.7-0.8) That is on a 110mm poulie though, so I i replace that for a smaller one I'll gain a lot!
Mercedes Sprinter intecooler (pretty much identical to the Laguna one)
Aquamist ofcourse (not sure how its working though, either boost related or ?? all very new to me)

thats it power wise

13.2V is fine for a battery mate. You should see between 12V & 14V normaly.

I normaly see 13.7v-14.1v on my Scangauge,

yeah thats what i thought. I knew that slight readings above 12v are normal.

but that still leaves the question of why the thing is empty in the morning?? I know starter is fuced but thats not the reason that battery is flat...so...??

disconnect it when you park up and reconnect it in the am that way you'll know if it's just a dodgy battery or the car draining it somewhere :)

110 mm pulley sounds huge - smaller is definately an option then :p but one thing at a time

yeah what i;ve done now is take the whole thing out. I'll measure the battery again tomorrow morning. If its full i have a problem because i'll have to find where its draining. And if there's one thing I hate its electricity....but oh well we'll see

as for the pulley, yeah its very big. The smaller ones they put on the g lader are something like 68mm so a big difference. Only problem is that on the Eatons the small pulley are very prone to snapping; not sure if i want that to happen. Besides, i'm pleased with the power atm so will be focusing on looks before i go tweak the beast some more [B)]

but then again, i know myself, so might not be able to wait

oh and just for you i'll make a better movie shortly :bleh::whistle:

well then lads, had a bit more of a play with the engine bay today. Switched some of the oem hoses for silicone, and started polishing the kompressor outlet to airfilter housing.

result:

Then, especially for Flapper, I made another small movie [B)]

small-ish update:

catch tank fitted (excuse the cheap garden hose fitted, have proper hose on order) and braided fuel lines fitted. Also started cleaning up the alternator.

More work will follow shortly

thanx mate,

I always preferred coupe's and this is the first 4 door i own. But somehow with this car it really appeals to me. Keeps it a bit stealth like, until i hit accelerator lol

besides the amount of space is absolutely great, and also having my first born this year so the space is a bonus :)
