Washers wont work

Hi Guys
I have a 2001 leon cupra and the washers stopped working. Front and rear. Fuses are ok! they both went off at the same time . Then while investigating the bottle/motor the rear has now started to work! Any ideas regarding the front one would be appreciated.

Do you hear the pump trying to work when to used them?
Have you had a look for a blockage or split line?

No noise from pump. only whe the rear is working. But I think there may be seperate pumps. Cheers

Do you have a volt meter to check there is voltage getting to the pump when you pull the stalk for the washers

There's only one pump, at the bottom of the reservoir. The other electrical item down there is a level sensor. The pump runs one way to wash windscreen and headlamps (if washers fitted), the other way to wash the rear screen. So the pump isn't earthed, both power lines go back to the switch so that power can be applied either way around.

Sounds to me like you need to look at the stalk switch on the steering column.
