Mike & Bill - it *should* work fine. The 3800/3900 might be "old" but they're good little units. It's a cheap enough solution (if you have a serial ODBII cable) to try it and see...

Thinking about finally investing in a 1S.

Is it okay to use the standard water bottle? Along witht he standard liquid?

Or would i need to fill the bottle with only water/meth?

your washer fluid is made up of 25-50 % methanol/ethanol/isopropanol anyway so it'll be fine for the engine, all work as det control methanol being the best.

I found the wipers got shafted quicker(became brittle) with the 50/50 mix. lol

Think going to go for a separate tank in the boot along with the battery next year. Just to keep it out of the hot engine bay.

personally im p8utting an alu water tank where the battery used to be, alu shouldnt conduct heat

It won't if you get a double skinned one.

dont forget the pump as to suck the water out of the tank.... and they advise pump is lower than tank for aided gravity fill...

My pump sits under the battery, so battery in the boot and W/I located in it's place might work well then.
