Does anyone have the persistant problem like I have on my 01 Toledo 1.9TDI of getting a totally wet windscreen INSIDE every morning ?...........while all the cars parked with mine only get wet on the outside !!!!

I've tried blocking the winscreen vent, I've tried making sure that the re circ button is on before I turn off (both to stop damp air being blown in through the vent system) but this doesn't help.

Anyone any ideas ?

Yes I did that ages ago & surprisingly they were dry. As for cleaning the glass I do that everyday because after I've used a chamois to dry the glass it always leaves these streaks I use a spray to clean properly....Sorry maybe I should of said I'd done that as well.

Also I've made sure there is nothing inside the car that is giving off damp !!...even the wet chamois doesn't stay in the car.

sounds like all the bases are covered there though.

last resort really as finding a fault is better than patching it but maybe some larger packs of silca gel in the door pockets would be enough to draw the moisture away ?

always found this time of year all mien need is some vinegar and newspaper :):)

I would definately take a closer look at any one of the door seals orrrrr the spare wheel well/water ingress from the boot.

Failing that, stop breathing in the car and then it wont condense when you get out!

Funny you should say that re breathing in the car............I always near the end of the journey put the air con on & recirc so that the air is dried out by the condensor coils !

Does vinegar stop condensation forming then ? (as well as the smell !!!)

Thank you for that I'll try the 3:1 on the windscreen inside.

Have you tried the vinegar in the water you wash your car with ???? ...................I'm think re vinegar being acid etc ?

I've always found that recirculating the air makes the windscreen mist up more. It's better to have the air flowing through the car, being dried out on the way in then carrying excess moisture away.

I'm having this problem on my LCR, but only on the drivers side of the screen!

Do you think it could be the drivers door seal, even though I've had no issues with damp footwells?

Yes I agre but thats why I pass it through the air con & the reason for recirc is because with all the rain outside the air is heavily laden with moisture.

Well I looked in the REAR foot well behind drivers seat & the well is literally full of water (not just damp carpet) looked under carpet in Drivers well it's damp....other two foot wells bone dry.

Has anyone come across this before ?............the fact that the rear footwell had a "level" of water in it (not just a wet carpet) does this mean its coming from above ? I looked at where the door closes & was looking for indication that water had run down from the door seal but couldn't locate any tell-tell signs.

sounds like the leaky ancillary panel seals which these leons suffer from aswell, take your finger round the edge of the door card and see if theres any moisture coming through, or just take door cards off and have a look at the seals, i just had similar problem this week also

Thank you for that. You saying that I found Thread :
http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?t=44216

This seems very good although the first thing I see is the removal of the plastic covering around the windscreen wipers & makes me think......................only a few weeks back I had the windscreen wiper linkage replaced & wonder if them distrurbing this could be the start of my problem ? (I had nothing like this before)................it also sems to collect more when car standing.

Added to that was -3 this morning outside & all door seals were frozen to the car & couldn't open the doors !

if the door seals are freezing solid to the car then there's definately water coming through and freezing the metal against the rubber. whack a thick layer of sealant around the bottom half of seal of that panel should sort it. get a dehumidifier in there and carpets up a bit to start sucking the moisture out

I found as well that alot of water drains from somewhere when I open the door............how do the drain holes in the bottom of the door work if when the door is closed the holes are closed by the rubber ?........................& surely then the doors will fill with water ?????
