Had my new key cut by a guy off ebay. Great service and did it from a photo for £5. Then swapped everything over to my new case as the original was looking a bit worse for wear.

Who did you use? I ordered an actual spare key off eBay which came with a blank, but when I took the blank to get cut no one would touch it. They all said they are poor quality and mess up their machines with metal filings etc. Eventually I found one place that were willing to give it a go with the same warning that it may not be successful. They had to do it twice and it only operated the door and not the ignition or vice versa I can't remember. They were willing to cut a genuine blank but for £30 or something similar, so I still need to get this done.

My concern would be that the eBay seller now has a copy of your key and your address!!! Even though I have an immobiliser that still makes me a little uncomfortable.

Is it not possible to just buy a new housing, and swap out the blank for your original blade? Rather than getting the blank cut?

They look good but personally i prefer the oem look. Ive seen the Cupra ones, but glueing them on, a slight increase in overall size, plus it all feeling a bit Halfrauds puts me off.

Cleaned the EGR valve on my CR170 CEGA. Just turned over 50k miles and to be fair there wasn't that much carbon and sh*t in it so I was quite impressed.

However it was a pain in the arse removing and putting back on because there is hardly any access space. Two bolts you can't see you just have to feel and one is stupidly un-accessible.

Went for a test run and everything seems fine. Just need to soak my glow plugs so I can get them out as they don't want to budge!!

I used a seller called 2277malcolm off ebay, cut the blade and sent it back all for £5. It doesnt concern me as he could only open the car, couldnt steal it or anything plus he lives over 200 miles away so doubt he would travel that far for what little stuff is in the car.

Had mine serviced yesterday, supplied my own parts but didn't get any oil back from the 5L supplied. Turns out the guy has put almost all of the 5L into the engine and now the dipstick is reading on the top of the plastic end piece when cold... Is this safe to drive?
