Started painting parts of the engine bay for a bit of flair under the hood. Air intake covers done so far - currently working on the fuse box cover.

Waiting for a new engine cover to arrive after accidentally melting the previous one during curingin the oven...

I fitted front and rear 24mm whiteline adjustable anti roll bars today worth every penny. Just need to change gearbox oil and service the car next week after work and fitted my ad08rs tyres and that’s it for the year will start getting the parts for stage2+ in the new year now I’ve sorted the suspension, brakes and powerflex bushes out.

In case you've missed the announcement, time is running out to book for our annual meet on Sunday 3rd October @ TRAX Silverstone. All SEAT and CUPRA models welcomed, this is a static friendly social meet with goodies for attendees. [Find out more and how to book]

Project interior retrofit has begun :D

Highline Clocks and Cruise control stalk arrived today (not sure if I need the trip stalk and bit in the middle but got them anyway):

Should smarten things up a little bit
Hello, how was process to retrofit cluster?

I spent 3 hours messing around looking for an oil leak before I do the timing chain.

I'm 100% sure it isn't the rear main seal, the leak is on the driver's side of the engine and not the transmission side. That was a relief.

I think it's either the drain plug, I didn't torque it during my last oil change just made it tight with a ratchet (I didn't want to buy a smaller torque wrench just for this), or some weird sensor on the bottom of the oil pan (more likely)

The UV dye I bought doesn't seem to work that well. The Amazon page said it was for oil or AC but the actual package said AC. Even the dipstick doesn't glow with the torch. Anyway I cleaned it up with some brake cleaner and wiped it, left the car running for a bit and I think it's one of these. The reason I say it's probably the sensor is because the oil leak was on the MOT history for the past 5 years and I've only changed the oil on this car once. Maybe the MOT guys thought it was leaking because it was covered in oil and no one ever cleaned it, but I'm checking for the leak again tomorrow now that it's clean.

Anyone know what the part is called and how I fix a leak if it is that? the leak was hardly noticeable before, I never noticed the oil level drop but a few weeks ago I was losing like 400ml of oil every 2 days for 4 days before I stopped driving it (the timing chain started making noise). It could be the drain plug though, maybe it came a bit loose and started leaking, which made the noticeable difference. Who knows, I'll find out soon I suppose.

I found out that to take the fender liner off on these cars you need to remove like 20 different T25 torx screws, not fun. Tomorrow I'll start on the timing chain.
