I had the spare cash whilst I was in Wiltshire last week but now I'm home I have my sons birthday to concentrate on. The car can wait a little longer.
I feel so bad letting Bill down but the mount was unexpected and being a bank holiday there was no way of getting the car fixed by the Tuesday morning.

Serviced it. Castrol Edge 5W30 and OEM parts courtesy of Dave at Sere. Hope the pollen filter doesn't start leaking lol what a stupid design! Gave the throttle body a clean too, wasn't too bad I was expecting worse but it was a little gummed up. Seems to have stopped it idling like a piece of **** when its cold but think that might be more down to the spark plugs, they were shagged! Shes good to go for another year!

Yeah I have vagcom but havent done it yet. Not too sure how to do it, which of these is the correct procedure do you know?

[Switch to basic settings]
Once you do this you will see the top right display say ADP RUN. The TB adaptation is being done as soon as you switch to basic settings. You will see the values change and hear the TB cycle for the first few seconds then it will stop. Leave it in Basic Settings for about 30 seconds.
[Switch to Meas. Blocks] button and you're all set.
Be sure not to touch the accelerator and make sure the engine is NOT running when you do this!
