One thing I would add, can't say I'm a fan of the kit you're using.
Personally I consider jacks and stands to be safety equipment and, while I've done sketchier things in my time, I wouldn't get under anything with the name Halfords on supporting it. But tis your choice

I probably just didn't seat the clip properly - it's a pain to do when you can't see the other side.
It's a new Febi one so the lugs should be OK - and they look fine. I've still got the old one too and that's pretty healthy.
I think the big issue is that the side mount for the undertray isn't a perfect fit and it's pushing against it. I'm going to take it out and cut a circle in it so it's not constricted.
If that doesn't work it'll either be silicone pipes and jubilee clips or self tappers.
