Lol I am southen. I am from hemel hempstead, Thai is even more southen....A roof? A roof? Look at these lah-di-dahs over here talking about their roofs.
They only time I have anything over my head is when I'm lying on my back under the car - or the bonnet has fallen on me.
The only heating I've got is a fleece.
Bunch of bloody fairies if you ask me (which you didn't) - and I'm as southern as they come.

Being a mobile hgv fitter and break down driver all my work is done out side .
This was week or so ago.. -3 snowing changing a set of rear discs and pads.. thing is I am not complaining. I love my job. And being out in the snow and cold really don't bother me. I hate it when it's hot ..

Despite my best efforts, it passed its MoT.
Probably the 17705 code (pressure drop between turbo and DV) . Mapped cars often throw it in the winter, some sort of bug in the ECU that can get triggered when temp is below 5C at first start up. Mine throws it maybe 1 jouney in 50 in the winter, as you said cycling the ignition deals with it.Took the car out, first test since attack of the rodents, & all seems fine (apart from insulation). The only odd thing was that there was no turbo on first jaunt, so came back, restarted & turbo back. If anyone has any ideas why that might have happened, would be most helpful. Thanks.
Thanks mate, that's a real help, appreciate it!?Probably the 17705 code (pressure drop between turbo and DV) . Whole article on it here, quite interesting https://18t-tuning.co.uk/17705-pressure-drop-between-turbo-and-throttle-valve/
Best one I ever done was in the rain on the hard shoulder of the m25, changing an drivers side rear air bag on an artic unit.. my misses called me on face time.... half way threw the conversion she asked where I was... so I showed her.. I held my phone. Just threw the wheels in to Lane one. Hahahah. She wasn't impressed with my job.. she had the idea that I worked in a work shop or went to broken down lorrys in car parks etc hahahah… When us HGV drivers break things.
Never envy you guys crawling under a truck or trailer to fix something when it’s cold and wet and I’m sat in the cab with the night heater on full.
Respect!
Bit moist that.
