Had a little race with a BMW M135i Xdrive, booting it from 40mph in 3rd.
He got away from me smartly at first but basically kept up with him once we both hit 60, up to 100.
Looked it up and it has 306hp and 0-60 in 4.9.

£3500 v £45000
you cant beat the ones who buy the gear and no idea .. i had a R32 have a go and they are overrated but problem is people don't like to lose and take risks so you have to back off as they are trying to prove the cost or got a passenger to prove there point, when i had the 5GTurbo up against a Cosworth they could not take the bends even though it was a classic

Always a satisfying moment & ours hold their own in so many ways 😎

Mines on my to do list too. Think it's leaking into the rear lock, as if I use it before parking up, it sets the alarm off.
mine was half off.. once i got it off it pushes back on with a click .. you can open up the crimp clip a reuse that .. it was like that for years and thought it was normal until it leaked .. lubricate the lock while you are there as i did

Well I've done very little with the boy, except wash it, but that's thanks to my Ibiza which is now awaiting a new clutch 😒
I've just started a new job, so as a treat for the boy, I had lined up some ££ jobs for payday...but no, the f ing Ibiza needs it now.😔

Sorry to hear that, that's rough man; a heart sinking moment 😟 & as you say, another expense you just don't need😖
Reminds me of a mate on here a few years ago, Mty will probably remember him, 'Whatdaluck'. The name was coined after his poor Cupra had a surprising amount of expensive incidents. Firstly, a weighty pedestrian walked out in front of the moving car on a main road & his bulk fkd up the entire bonnet, leaving a super sized dent. Then because he'd swerved to avoid him, his alloy also hit the curb & damaged the wheel badly. The travesty was that he was left having to protest his innocence & foot the bill as the pedestrian was 'the victim'. Then when he came back to retrieve the car, the council or cops had haphazardly sprayed yellow paint around the curb & the wheel & some bodywork.
Sadly he got through that & a few other moments, then like you, one night a rough UK storm hit & the neighbours wall fell over onto the car & that was the end of his pride & joy. It was sh8 luck. 🥺

Wow feel for that guy, yeah it socks but the car needed paint work sorting from the job last shop did which makes me more angry than this at least when it gets done it will be all the same, going to be a fair bit of extra cash no doubt but that can be fixed a roof slate in your head different story obviously just bad timing as these things always seem to be lol 😆. Don't like easter no more.

Been putting this one off for far too long. Such a stupidly easy job to do that I don't know why I haven't done it already.

Looking at the old dipstick, I'm thinking I might have an idea where the oil coating my transmission might have been coming from... It's absolutely caked in the stuff.

There's supposed to be a tab on this bit, which is the bit that broke off last year. When you zoom in on it though, you can see that it's cracked too...

Engine was still warm when I put the replacement in, but put that in a mug of boiling water first as I've heard they can pull out when you pull the dipstick out. We'll see if it works long term.

Take it you just give it a good yank out or is there a clamp??

Just a good old yank, yes. Thought it would be easier with the engine still warm and it didn't take too much. Normally with these things I tug too hard and end up falling over backwards. Luckily had my neighbour's A3 to break my fall...

Yeah mine usually gets off as soon I pulled the dipstick up so I ended ziptie-ing it to the engine to keep it in place. :)
