What is the sensor on the inside top of the windscreen?

on the inside of the windscreen at top left on the new latest style fr what is the purpose of the sensor ? would fitting a exterior sunstrip caus any probs ?

It's a rain sensor I think. Have a look in the manual as it tells you in there.

Auto wipers are fine on Motorwars, on back roads they just dont cut the mustard unless your sat in the passenger seat.

i wonder would the sensor still function when the strip is fitted ? i guess i will just have to get it fitted to find out !

I find the auto wipers work fine most of the time, you just have set the sensitivity sometimes to get the best from them.
I would guess that a sun strip would effect the sensor or even stop it detectecting rain.
In the manual it does say "Do not put stickers on the windscreen in front of the sensor".

Auto lights and Auto wipers in the top off the windscreen.
The largest one is wipers I think.

I tried partly covering it once to try and make it more sensitive, didn't affect it at all!

If its auto wipers at the top what at the bottom on the left?
