I've just bought a Leon 1.6TDi SE COPA Ecomotive. How can I tell what MY the car is? It was registered at beginning of June 2011. Just wondering what version of the media system its got, 2.1 or 2.2.

Hi,

It will be a MY11 or possibly a MY11.5 car, assuming there were any MY11 changes from MY10

OEMs normally start building a new MY's the year before hand.. So a new launched or face lifted car will start its production the year before it MY name.. If the launch is early enough in the year you can actually buy the next years car toward the end of the year before.. i.e my Leon is a MY12 model but I bought it in November 2011..

Hope this makes sence :)

do you actually have the car if so version comes up when you switch it on
It should be a 2.2 with 7 digit postcode search however some on here have MY11 cars with 2.1 apparently they were a bit short in the factory so put 2.1 in some cars if so kick up a fuss and tell them you want the 2.2 it is advertised as having

No I'm waiting to pick it up so can't tell u. I'm guessing the sat nav itself is the same I.e the routing etc it's just the postcode that's different.

As Tony mentioned at post #4 there was a production problem through last summer were the Copa was fitted with 2.1 systems because the 2.2 were not available.

I had my Copa delivered in the second week of November 2011 and I was a bit worried about getting the 2.1 system with its post code fault but I was lucky because the production problems were sorted by then.

I think the main deferent’s between .1 and .2 is indeed the post code entry but not having used the 2.1 system there may have been from memory other fixes in the software as well with the likes of Bluetooth and iPod connectivity but this might be just my bad memory.:)
