My resprayed door (following some ding-dong end ramming into it and running) is now showing very obvious spots of yellowing.

Is it f00ked or is there something I can do?

G3 paint restore did nothing, claybar did nothing, and harsh chemicals did nothing (alloy cleaner, engine cleaner)

If not...
Who can recommend a good spray shot around Newcastle that does a GOOD paint matching spray job on candy white?

Its a clear-coat finish so got a lacquer over the top of the paint, so not much you can do if the colour match is not right.

Sorry to say, but good luck in finding a company good at matching the colour, they may match at first but always seem to discolour over themonths/years.

Bet your been over fussy, just as I would be and I'm guessing its the driver door so you just can't ignore it..

Not really being over-fussy. It was never a perfect match to begin with, but it was good enough. The paint looked sprayed, if you know what I mean. It didn't look like a clean finish.
But only noticeable up close.

Now I have really visible yellow staining on the passenger door. Not something I can live with really. It's like someone ate a bag of Cheese Balls and rubbed their hands around the door handle.

Surely a paint just has a code, and that can be mixed accurately by a reputable shop?

If it was me I'd be going back and showing him what the door now looks like. If they had any sense they would care about reputation and do something about it, otherwise you're unlikely to recommend the sprayer to anyone you know.. That's what I think anyway!

yeah it's a tempting thought for sure. But it's pretty much a 90% chance that I'll be told "oh sorry...oh well".
best case scenario....they redo it...exactly the same way

Yeah, I know what you mean. It's disappointing that its happened. When I asked SEAT for a quote it was £450 for the drivers door on my black leon...

Jesus!!
I was considering that option but not anymore... that's absolutely insane.
I can get it sprayed 3x for that money. May not look as good, but that'll last me as long as I plan to keep the car.

That was actually direct with the official body shop in Liverpool that covers Audi, SEAT, Skoda and VW. They told me it would be even more had I asked SEAT Liverpool themselves.

You would think wouldnt you, there is one code for emocion red, however mine is a different shade to a friends, can only notice when they are side by side, neither have had any body work..

If less than 12 months I would go back if not happy and ask for them for "advice" and hopefully if decent will offer to put right.
I have a new bumper front and back and the colour is spot on so its possible to get a good match in CW.

could be filler or primer coming through paint work best way is to have that panel and next panels blended and clearcoated to be spot on .if you pay not much to get job done that what happerns

I'll see if I can go back sometime and see what they say. It hasn't been 12 months obviously.

It was 150 to repair and respray the door. Not super cheap, but also not expensive at all.

This happened to my car, I took it back and they said it was because the paint wasn't mixed right. They said it was there fault and did the car again. If you want a job doing properly then going cheap isn't the answer, I know mine went wrong but I took it back and got it rectified without any hassle purely because I paid a lot of money for it, and it was a highly recommended garage VAG/Mercedes/Aston Martin body shop.

Yeah. Unfortunately this happened around Xmas. Not the time when 400 quid resides comfortably in my pocket along with a few more notes.
So it was a case of the best recommendation for the best price.
I've got another place in mind to get it done better. Still cheap mind. However, this place has a bit more credit to it.
