LC all the way :) besides a mapped LCR only managed to do 1/4 mile 1.8 seconds faster :p after are 5 seconds of wheel spin that is lol

And what was the turbo the Cupra's use? I know the newer golf (Think post '02) had the AUM turbo which was made to have more power once remapped.

That's the one.:D Cheers guys.

Very helpful. I will now make my way around the forum & have a good read up about the cars.

This is the standard wheel that come on a Facelift Cupra. Hope this helps.

There exactly the same ;)

partly incorrect mate, golf gti's were all 150bhp ONLY the anniversary edition golf was the same auq lump in the cupra,

the majority of the 150bhp golfs were cable throttle, ko3 turbo'd where as the 180 anniversary was the same auq lump with 177bhp and 173lb ft of torque and the Ko3S turbo

the cupra is the underdog, but the better car IMO, and the car less likely to have had a hammering since its classed as a lukewarm family 5 door hatch, where as the majority of golf gti's were traffic light drag slag cars,

most gti golfs are 100k plus, plenty of cupras in mint condition with sub 50k miles on

i bought mine dec 2008 for 6K on an 03 plate with 37k, cant fault it,

always good to know ;) thank you

Nah, there were a lot of non anniversary golfs that were AUQ, only later ones though.

they werent 180bhp though;)
i thought they were theres someone on here i know (smokie jay) he lives by me and he had 180 golf but not anniversary

Golf's before late 2002 (i think it was) were standard K03 with the cable throttle. After that they had K03s & were drive by wire.

And there were a few non anni Golf's that were 180, these were the very very late golfs. So around 2004?

From what i learned anyway.

yea im with anal on this oh sorry i mean alan ;) :p thought there were a fair few 180 golfs once the ko3s cam in i thought they started them i nkow the 150's were in production aswell

were's lee when you need him?? :cartman:

Didnt all the facelifts have tear trop mirrors? Suspect this is a pre lift with the body kit on.............

Mates facelift, 52 plate I believe has the tear drops.

Plus then there are pre face lifts with tear drop mirros too! hehe! so many choices :p

The facelift came along in 2002, with the first of the Cupra Rs (which had square mirrors), the changeover for both was around 2003 I believe (odd early/late registrations aside) so early facelifts could still have squares.

Lol TomAto, TomARTA :p

Lets be honest - those pesky Spanish had 2 jobs to do:

1. Corresponding body kits - FAIL
2. Inner door seals - EPIC FAIL!!

:D
