Why doesn't my car pop and backfire like my mate's Golf?

yer it is a bit chavvy recently, love my car because knowone really knows about them but i dont want to go out one night and a burberry suited kid comes up to me saying "oooooooooo i got the same car as you",......on that day ill shoot myself in the head.

Carl do some research! 4 years on SCN obviously aint enough. You could learn alot from that chap

and lemon...cant remember...i have a degree in computer science, have done extensive research in remapping and ****ed around with my car over the 4years i'v owned it to know that when developing a fuel map the developer does not purposely force the fuel pump to throw in more fuel to make the exhast go pop unless they are a compltete tool or a rip off merchant... i know what an ecu does so dont try to make me seem like a plonka...

now i'm going to watch new red dwarf!

r 20v j if u get a custom stage 2 they should delete 2 lamda sensor probe out so u will get no faults ect and yes ifu put the cat back on it will pass mot just been through this stage myself pal

Im not sure on the new red dwarf tbh loved the old series though! I'm not trying to make you look stupid mate we all have our area's of expertise, I have worked as a motor vehicle engineer for 13 years now and my missus own's a ibiza 1.4s which i have done alot of work on (hence my knowlege on these cars) tbh I tend to over maintain it but thats my way tbh anyway no harm mean't!

Thats brilliant mate, exact answer i was looking for.

Car is booked in for the 4th of may for the downpipe and cat back then i am booking it in for a custgom stage 2 map and i was worried that it might not pass the mot once i put the cat back on with the lambda's mapped out.

Now i know it will be ok i can't wait to get it done lol
