well the old TSR one was meant for the mk3 golf but fitted the Ibiza with slight modding so can't see why the second one wouldn't... of course it may need the bulk head sllighly adjusted.

Obviously not having my valver anymore it doesn’t make an awful lot of difference to me but what bhp gains do people hope / have achieve with these ss 4-1 mani’s ?

I remember speaking with the guy who did all the work on my valver at midland VW and he told me not to waste my cash as he’s fitted mani’s on cars and dyno’d them and see very little or no gain.

Or is it the type of mod to have once you really start getting spending on the engine al la – dinkious davos

all depends on what type of gain you looking for though

a 4-1 may well be great for peak power and track use but road wise 4-2-1 would give a better mid-range grunt more useful out of bends etc

same goes for inlets as well, why do you think the ABF has one reaching all the way over the top of the motor.

it's a strange and mysterious science at the best of times with noise and frequency and flow etc but if you wanna see real effects on exhausts spend some time with a 2 stroke bike tuner/zorst guy

Hi - I've used 2x options in the past.
Supersprint 16v manifold for LHD cars and re bent it round the PAS pipe connection to the steering rack - not ideal and I think you can't get these any more.

MK2 Golf sits 3inches too far to the left to be useful
MK3 Golf stuff is closer but you need to clear the steering rack and beat the proverbial out of them

So - I made my own 4-2-1 which is very nice.

My conclusion of screwing around with these since 1997 is I get about 3-5BHP out of a custom manifold over standard without a re-map so if I were to do it all again, I'd spend the money elsewhere.
