A few people have swapped the vents for the Illuminated newer A3 vents which do look quite cool, have a search about. The only issue is getting a power feed to them.

EDIT PIC ADDED of Robdon's car more info at http://www.leonturbo.co.uk/index.html NOTE Illuminated Audi Side vent

Pull out the centre dash vent at a guess and make up a blanking plate that you then fit the gauges into. I would have thought you could use the existing vent to make a fibreglass cast from to get a mould for making your own or i bet there's someone who makes a replacement panel for it :)

Dont your FRs in the UK come with the Console in Dark grey ???

I see very little of that here in the forum... mostly all black

There custom build mate, RobDon took out the double vent and replaced with a plate with 3 60mm holes in it.... me i wanted to have a more subtle look and keep the vent, but not use the A-pillar so brought a spare dasha nd build myself where the Cup holder was a new hole to fix in a guage... I used to do ICE installs in fibreglass and etc, so used those skills to custom make the holder.
Mind you these are the 60mm Defi BF gauges me and RobDon have used, harder to fit in normal spaces.. had it been a 52mm guage in my dash it would have been so much simpler...

Was thinking of going into making the consoles with 52mm holders in them for members, but it hard to, excuse the pun, "gauge" interest....

AND MDS, yes Leon range from the light grey pre 2001 to the now dark colour grey in the 2001 onwards, Cupra R came with dark grey also IRC....

how much would you charge for one

dear me, dont want an A pillar pod either like the look of that, maybe if i do a search or i think i might no someone that wil bake one, or i may even give it ago

lol wich peice would i need, the bit that goes around the hazzards the cup holder and de-mister, does that just clip in the dash centre peice

will have alook later, could get rid of the ashtray, mould som plastic and fit 2 on an angle there, but then you would have to look down on them, BAD IDEA

power to vent pah easy, glove box out, fuse box panel out, h/unit out. lengthen cable on new vents by couple inches, small hole inside hole from removing old vent, Cat 5 cable along from fuse side fed over dials connect at each vent, push them home! I like the tacky red bit so btchered old and new vents to fit them (more oem?) I lied this took hours!!!!!!

I will take some pics of the S3 vent installation when i do it this weekend. I am pretty sure i can get access to the centre vent area by just removing the glovebox, certainly enough to get the wires routed.

It honestly isn't rocket science, it's just taking it one step at a time and working logically through it whilst trying not to get frustrated etc.

I personally think it would be a hit, i would be interested for sure as the A-pillar pods are starting to annoy me now!

A thread in the feelers section of the forum would certainly gauge a lot more interest;)
