Yeah, thats the one, What is its purpose there then? The CCV is that carbon canister?? not too sure on this one!
Thank you, didnt know what CCV was, just a wild guess! May look into a Catch tank, would gladdy wait for other mods until i have this out of the way! Would they void warranty for this do you think, if done properly as it can only do good for the engine!
anyone comiong to BANGOR N.Wales, that wanna play with mine,, jus an ask, LoL
I'm down the road in Wrexham, but if you want it doing you can come to me!![]()
now there is a temptng offer, i wanna get a few things done, on my car, as do 2 mates with mk4 golfs, how much would we be looking at fella, for ya time and efforts??
To add to what has been said: excess oil accumulating in or near the EGR can come from the crankcase vent (CCV) or leaking past the turbo seal. A little oil there is normal, but I think the amount shown in post #1 is excessive.
As long as there isn't much soot, this oil isn't going to cause gunk to clog up the EGR and intake.
And as far as I know, the method for reducing the EGR cycle in post #17 doesn't work on the PD engine.
Look for a lot of excessive oil in the intercooler, too.
