well spoke to AMD earlier....

two issues and I will let you draw your own conclusions on this one

one of the braided water hoses was hanging down and rubbing on the drive shaft, which left it to split........

the sensor for the sump plug was also hanging down and was resting on the other end of the drive shaft which burnt right down to the wires and now needs a new sensor........

could this be from the possibility of a recent turbo conversion carried out I asked

AMD's answer........"yes"

they are replacing the master cylinder as well, so hopefully that will be the last of the issues

on a different note, the new CF cover from Forge arrived today.....so just hoping this one fits this time

all my stuff from cleanyourcar is arriving tomorrow as well, so get to try out the new foam lance and my snow foam! woohoo!

car should be fixed tomorrow, touch wood.....

So you've got poor fitment (maybe) and poor setup (maybe)

I'd be looking for a refund on the fitting cost / reparations from the installer

it's not something I could prove though is it M0rk? it could have just happened in transit, although unlikely

I feel it's an argument that nothing will come of it:(

parts wearing on driveshafts don't happen in transit though? just not being fitted right

not sure what to do to be honest

Think I will just get the issue sorted and only deal with AMD or Storm Developments from now on

tis a shame because up until this point I was impressed with the service given with the fitting of the kit

next stepping stone or stumbling block will be when Bill looks at getting the car sorted with the boosting issue......

very impressive... not checked then.
dissapointing and dodgy

indeed Bill

leading to more doubt about other parts of the work carried out

I will ask AMD to do a general check over tomorrow and ask for their honest opinion of the work carried out and any other potential issues that they see could arise.....

needless to say this has caused me two painful days of public transport, and its a complete ball ache to get to the office from where I live!!

The water hose was indeed rubbing against the driveshaft, and we supported it to stop this as best as we could without kinking or straining the pipe. This has obviously shifted again

The sump sensor wiring is something that certainly wasn't happening when on the ramp.

It does get annoying when one company says one thing against another, then forum members jump on making comments and giving opinions

so that's definitely a flaw that you were aware of

I'm sorry that it's annoying, probably more annoying for jamie who's car is VOR though....

I think slightly disappointed Will to have this issue occur when it was a known issue, although I was not made aware of this at the time upon pickup

I am not about to start some mud slinging match here, whats done is done

Yes I understand the kit was not the best of fitments, but this I would not say is a valid reason for an issue like this to occur

what's frustrating here is to have one issue, which is nothing to do with P-Torque, only for another tuning company then to find bad points of the kit fitted

either way, bottom line this is now causing me further investigation, time and most importantly suffering using public transport and bottom line = cost:(

Very true, but as I said to Jamie, the kit was poor and we put alot of work into making custom hosing for it to ensure a stock look

We have never had 1 issue with Backdraft kits, and will only be fitting these in the future

Fully understand the frustration Jamie, but the kit was fitted perfectly, and neither the hose or wiring was touching the driveshaft when it left us.

I actually think I have a picture of the underneath of the car when it was being fitted, which may show this.

Don't accuse of us being 'dodgy' please.
Dissapointing as in its happened
+
Dodgy as in the end result - so wind ya neck in. :p

No personal idea - nor care who fitted it until you posted.

The "dodgy" aspect was the split leaky hose and wiring

well I am not gunna argue, its in the garage being fixed right now....

hopefully this has not caused too much of an impact and parts will be available and fitted tomorrow in time for preparation for Edition 38:cry:

if it is not due to fitment, then I am not going to be very happy to say the least, as E38 is something I have been looking forward to now for weeks

I should be at E38, would be nice to see it make it there after all the work!

Have you sorted the gearbox/clutch issue?
