i had a headunit fitted and needed the space where the storage slot is for all the wiring and my soon to be fitted kce350bt bluetooth kit.

i i bought a blanking plate from my seat dealer for £3.09p (surprised as it was the dealer) an its plane black as pictured below.

i was wondering if people think it looks out of place and needs to be color coded?

also do you think i should color code the stereo trim at the same time?

anyone know the color or color code?

thoughts appreciated

Andy

how easy is it to wire in the bluetooth kit?

Ive got an alpine headunit in mine with a kce 300bt bluetooth adapter and it all fits in perfectly with the tray under the headunit. I cut out all the backing and the standard headunit still fits in.

Heres a pic of how mine looks

i dont want to cut the backing really i want it to look standard for when i sell...

is that part of the kit the control in the storage box?

would like to know more about it andy

I had similar problems, but I didn't like the plate once I fitted it.

I decided the best way was to chop off the back third of the cubby hole, spray some cardboard matt black, duck tape that to the end of the remaining 2/3 and refit.

It retained the OE look and gave the HU wiring more than enough room.

have you got any pics?

should have just bought a hu with builtin bluetooth feature ;)

when you want a headunit firstly sound quality is the most important (and price) and i have always had an alpine and the bluetooth i couldnt afford at the time but now i can so i am getting it next sat. :D

I haven't, no. When refitted, it looked completely standard, the only time you noticed it was when you stuck your hand in there and realised it was shorter than before!

You don't have to used cardboard, as long as the material's black and strong enough for your items not to go straight through it!

The knob below the radio in the cuby hole is for a bass controller.
If you look behind the radio when it is out, there is a sort of cage at the erar in plastic, if you cut just enoungh of that out for the wire to drop through, and feed it down the back. Mine is just sat under the cubby hole on top of the climate, its been there for over 12 months with no problems.

The microphone that comes with the kit just feed it along the bottom of the dash and up the a post and clip it on the plastic at the top os the a pillar.

Not my eyes then :p

Looks very out of place, just too much of a blank void.

I'd put a pair of these in it, as you're working on the car's ICE anyway...

i like the sound of that more than gauges (as my car isnt being modded a great deal to need them).

i will ask the question about them at my audio shop (dont trust myself to fit them)

but great idea

I hope, sincerely, I haven't started a trend. Please, do not write a guide.

whats up with making it a trend?

do you have it? if so do you have any pics?

Was said in jest, didn't think it was that great an idea my self - though, now I think about it, it is the perfect place for a pair of tweeters.

I haven't tried it myself yet, maybe when I start wiring up my ICE system more seriously I will. I've got a new HU fitted atm and that's all, though I have a monster 12" subwoofer sitting in my room :p
