Chris - they have said it was the bolts that weren't upto the heat, only rated to 800 degs C, so they ordered some new ones, but they are going to take 3 weeks to turn up, these are rated to 1400 degs C, costing about £40 per stud and nut, not costing me anything.

but they offered me the new manifold as a swap, as i still wasnt happy that these bolts were going to stop it bolwing, the new manifold is designed to dissipate the heat better, and they are suppling it with these new high temp bolts too.

when the new manifold has been developed and produced fully James will be ringing me and i'll be giving them the car back to fit the manifold, he is going to do a rolling road with standard manifold on, and then one with new JBS manifold on, and then going to tweek the map and give another figure after that

Caveo - to answer the question of the manifold being the same, its totally different, this one is more like the other high flow manifolds you can get, but with slightly flow and collection to the turbo :D should be good

I hope this sorts the problem out for you, with the amount of time you have spend going back wards and forwards to them and lost on the track with the gasket blowing.

If it lives up the hype the manifold should be very good.

yeah caveo

hope so chris, had a look at the plastic prototype, looks good, maybe even better than the tubular one :)

so they supplied a product with inadequate parts then?

Right having a crappy day today, the good old clutch pedal snapped on me [:@] and the white clip broke, managed to limp it home using the rev's to change gear, got new clip on order, and going to wait until my brother is back at work on the 5th and get it welded up

Stupid thing all was going well until that, managed to do a whole month before i had to spend some money on it.

And to top it off the front door decided to not let me in, so had to call the locksmiths out, cost me a swift £170 great end to the new year hey

O yeah, and managed to drive into a tree that was in the road, after a mate come off the road and took the tree out and, written off his DC2 big time! he was stuck in it for an hour while they cut him out, he's ok just a broken arm, but i got a few scuffs from the tree, nothing a bit of elbow grease wont sort out, so having a last week to the year!

only problem is, went to seat to pick up the white plastic clip, and they have managed to order the wrong bit :( so got to wait until tuesday to put it all back together now!

right picked the part up at 10.30, and all was fitted by 11.30, including a 20 min drive home :D

happy now, although its a royal pain in the tits to fit that spring!

to be fair i think yours has been worse,

mine has just been the manifold (which i'm still waiting for new one) and a few niff naff things like the clutch pedal, and window reg
