Hi,
If "somebody" made the mistake of not chosing bi-xenon headlights when they ordered their car, is it possible to fit them when the car arrives? Or is it a factory fit only?

if not, should i just get some LEDs instead?
Cheers

nope i wouldn't think so! Because the headlamps automatically moves up and down and you need jet washers for the xenons to keep them clean from glare... soo i guess factory fitted think of labour cost! £££££££££££££££

It would be very difficult to retro fit them.

Ask Techie, he's the guru.

Shouldn't be "that" difficult to fit them, replace the headlight units and the front bumper, plumb in the tubing for the washer jets and activate it on the ecu using vag-com

(from a non-technical minded PoV)

And what about the ballasts and associated wiring for them then?

I would think to do the job to a "factory fit" standard would be quite expensive and not that easy.

Would be a big job to do it properly as factory you would need

Headlamps
Wiring
Control unit
Level sensor
Washer bottle
Pump
Washer lines
Washer nozzles
Bumper
Nozzle caps

Just off the top of my head, did the same on my Fabia Combi

Just want something nice and bright.

@FR_POWER I like the look of them. Are the dipped's bright enough for country roads?

Cheers guys.

Right so in total i should end up getting:
4 x Canbus 501 Ultrabrite white LED sidelights, the ones on ABD
2 x H7 Philips X-treme Power, dipped beams
and another 2 x H7 for the main beams? is it fine to use the same as the dipped bulbs?

Sorry, i'm more used to motorbike headlights, they only needed a matching pair of bulbs!!

So you pay £40 for led's and they last 3 months? Surely that can't be right? I thought led's were suppose to last years same with the phillips. Aren't they also suppose to out live normal bulbs?

So it's a toss up between not seeing much from dim bulbs and not seeing anything as the the bulbs die. Hmmm. More investigation required me-thinks.
Thanks for the input guys.

Go to autoexpress website. They did reviews on different bulbs but Philip xtreme always win. :D
Sweet. I'll have a peek at that. Thanks.
Looks like the Philips are they way ahead. Not sure if i'll use them for main beams though, maybe just dipped.
Those sidelights look good, are they alright as they are xenons?
