Updates:

Finally got round to sorting out the awful looking rusty calipers.
Prepared and re-painted in you guest it red.

Three coats of Hammerite on the rears and they were finished.

DSC_0139.jpg

The fronts took considerably longer then the rears to complete - these calipers are much bigger compared to the old Peugeot 106 ones I was used to.

They will all probably get another good going over once again come summer time but it was a full days work and I was quite happy with the results.

Next up LED's

Ive had these installed for quite a few weeks now but was waiting on other bulbs in the post to complete the set-up.

100_0696.jpg

Need to get some pictures at night really but they look quality and are much more beneficial over the oem bulbs.
Also I am now running LED bulbs in both the boot and glovebox (pics to follow when its dark and not raining).

Thats it for now.:)

Update 30/04/2010

Bonnet seal fitted (I initially thought this was quite a poor fit - it just seemed quite loose when it was clipped in but once the bonnet was shut its certainly a worthwhile upgrade at £8 quid.
DSC_0329.jpg

Also while I was working around that vicinity I thought i'd remove the under bonnet sound deadining...
DSC_0328.jpg

Overall it looks much better and a bit of weight saving too. ;)

This was then painted so it matched the colour of the car a bit better:
DSC_0323.jpg

The washer bottle cover is next on the agenda...
DSC_0324.jpg

Better pic of my pressed plates:
DSC_0322.jpg

And finally some more led's to fit inside the puddle lights in the doors (pics to follow once fitted).

Nice mods so far, quite tasteful. Also I really like the fact your keeping the Leon spotless.

Yeah ive been doing a fair bit of research around mapping a PD150 - a replacement clutch seems to be the only solution - so in the long run i was planning getting the re-map done at the same time as a having the clutch uprated - but theres no way my pockets are that deep right now.

Currently trying to decide between a milltek cat back exhaust system or a blue flame one from DMP Performance.

Seen the suspension kit I want as well...
You wont go far wrong with an AmD Remap. Go for a custom map to get most out of the car which should see you get a good 190-195bhp. Dont worry to much about the peak power figure its how it holds across the range.

There really is no point in going cat back with Diesels. Go full turbo back or if money cannot stretch that far go for the Milltek decat downpipe and keep the last part of the system. You will get a nice performance and sound difference for this and it wont be in your face. Most importantly it will help you keep EGTs down.

Didn't know blueflame did a downpipe for 150PD but going on price its quite a bit dearer than the Milltek.

As for clutch you don't need to upgrade straight away. I had a stage 1 AmD map which was fairly aggressive but made its power on the latter half of the rev range. it lasted for a good 13,000 ish miles and didn't need to be replaced but was because I got a diff. Its all how you drive and as long as you don't do traffic light grand prix and labour the car in higher gears riding on the torque you should be fine.

Looking very clean mate. Only thing i don't like is the mirrors being grey/silver. Would look much better going black or red

Thanks for the replies guys.

Well im booked in at AMD now so this is something im really looking forward too.

Getting a Miltek cat back,
Superpro dogbone bush kit fitted,
S3 lower brace fitted.

I hadn't considered a turbo back exhaust system before but this is a bit out of my price range to be honest. I have thought about the largebore down pipe however but was worried about emissions and mot problems.

You wont have any emission or MOT problems with a decat on diesels. As stated in my previous post getting a CAT back system is a big waste of money and I guarantee you if you speak to Kenny@AmD he will say get a downpipe.

In thst case i might see if i can stretch to a larger bore down pipe too.
Its confusing because i have heard alot of people on the forum suggest that a decat on a diesel is pointless unless you are fitting some sort of hybred (sp) turbo.
Ive heard very good things about the Superpro bushes too so im looking forward to getting this fitted and seeing the difference it makes.
Looks like i'll be giving AMD another ring on Tuesday morning then...;)

Well it seems to have been ages since i last updated but some new mods hve been completed. About four weeks ago i went to AMD for the first time to get a Miltek cat-back non resonated system fitted.

Fitted perfectly straight and suits the space it sits in perfectly.:D
Also while at AMD I had a SuperPro dog bone bush kit fitted (sorry no pics of this as its hidden behind the plastic engine tray) Anyway this was well worth the money and I would highly recommend this kit to anyone.
Finally I took along my lower S3 brace so they could fit this at the same time as the dogbone mount.

100_0741.jpg

Not alot to see really but its made a very slight difference to the handling.

Got this from China - (about 2 mins to fit).
100_0740.jpg

My sunglasses do not fit though

Currently deciding whether to debage the L E O N of the back?
100_0743.jpg

Mods have currently been shelved while I sort the cars paintwork out

DSCF4560.jpg

The swirls are really quite bad in some places

There is no way I can get these out by hand (although ive tried) so I had no other option,
My new weapons of choice:

Was planning a massive detailing sesh today but the weathers too hot now.
Will next update when ive achieved full paint correction.

Thanks for looking and comments welcome - Liam.

Car looks good mate. How many miles has it done? With the airbox was it a fairly straight forward thing? i want to do mine but am a bit unsure as to where to start with it. Does the turbo spooling up noise become more apparant with this mod??

Current milage is just under 90k.
In fact its going in for a full service this Monday (26th).

There hasn't been much progress lately as im still paying £150 quid finance a month so basically im finding it difficult to modify the car at the same time.
However a little update:

Couldn't decide whether I liked the idea of the car being debadged in case the lettering left ghosting on the paint but anyway I bit the bullet and went for it.

De-badgedrear.jpg

De-badgedrear2.jpg

A quick polish revealed no marks or ghosting so a very worthwhile mod in my opinion and cost nothing at all. :)

Also you may have noticed my number plate surrounds which I picked up at Inters.

Thats it for now.

Ive always wanted some LCR 18's and after buying a cheap se of ebay that needed a good referb here are my results:

100_0847.jpg

I cannot fault the finish they look gorgeous powdercoated in Graphite grey here is a better pic of just one wheel:

100_0841.jpg

At £40 quid a wheel I am certainly not complaining. However there is one minor problem that I originally did not notice when I first bought the set of wheels...

...And here is the problem:
100_0844.jpg

100_0843.jpg

100_0842.jpg

One of the wheels has a very minor flat spot - Im not quite sure what to do about this as it did balance up without any problems at the tyre centre.
And yes I know i have budget tyres but I dont care as im happy with just having the wheels on the car at the moment.

Comments welcome.:)

Not done the remap yet - My brakes are causing me a bit of a headache at the moment and they have to come first.

Updates at last.

Lots of things going on recently but first of all I wanted to sort out the alloy wheel that had the flat spot. I was contimplating buying one brand new 18inch LCR alloy from Seat (until I heard it would be over £350 quid (thats before VAT)!!

In the end I got one of ebay for £143 quid with a fairly decent Michelin Pilot Sport tyre.
This was quickly removed and the wheel was sent for Powdercoating.
A week later (I was in no rush) it was back with me:

(With flash)

With the wheel back I polished it up twice with AG srp before giving the wheel 3 coats of my newly aquired Poorboys Wheel sealant (Great stuff, smells sweet too).
The tyre from the damaged wheel was then swapped and put onto the new rim - After that the spare Pilot Sport tyre was fitted to the damaged rim (which would now be acting as my full size spare).

While on ebay I purchased some genuine VAG bolt covers:

Wheelboltcapsone.jpg

Wheelboltcapstwo.jpg

These match the colour of the wheels quite well and I think they are a great little edition to keep everything tidy and oem looking.

With the wheels finally sorted - It was now time to see whether the full size LCR wheel would fit comfortably inside the boot well - It was tight but it fitted in quite well actually.

(Bubble wrap there to protect the face of alloy)

Wheeljacktogether.jpg

The factory jack was a pita to make fit however the foam housing was no match for mums bread knife and after five mins I was pretty happy with the way it sat within the wheel.

Sparewheeljackpackedaway.jpg

All wraped up and pretty tidy looking I reckon. :)

I also found the time to paint a few bits under the bonnet:

Red centre breaks up the boring black plastic.
