LOL, thanks mate. Still need coillies and ARB then I reckon I am ready. Although I may trade up next year if they replace this engine with the new 1.6tsi so I have stopped all mods for the time being until I know for sure.
Well went to Combe yesterday for VW & Audi Trackday but failed sound test with 103dB, I had 98dB's at Performance Car Action Day.
Had this problem last time where I measured 103 then had 98 and now 103 again!!!
Will have to wait till next month for track action, Pembrey on the 7th August & Oulton Psrk in the 10th.
Fitted a few new things, a steering wheel spacer and a STR sticker.... Save The Ring

. Maybe it's time to invest in a removable centre silencer, if you v band it in and have a straight pipe too changing it won't take long.

I've Pembrey & Oulton Park in August both with a 105dB's limit so if I measure over 100dB's on either of them then I will sort something out.
dave, just been looking through an old copy of redline (about 6 months ago) and they did a test on an exhaust valve on an imprezza going around castle combe. it had very good results. didnt know if its something you`ve looked at or heard of? im guessing you have but just incase you havnt??
Phil is that the silencer thing they put on? if so he can't as his exhaust is oval

no it isnt suj. its a device that you put in a joint in the pipe work that basically looks like a throttle body that you adjust from in the car. not explained it to well so will try and take pics of it and put them up.

there's no reason it has to be that loud tho.. Badgerwagen tests 89db(A) thru its 3" system, as does the lupo on its 3" as does the Leon racecar I am working on at the moment, again with full 3" system.. All silencers I have fitted are Birchill 3" straigth thru, but work very well attenuating the noise down. (3 silencers on lupo and leon, 2 on ibiza)
It maybe going back down to Saxon for some more engine work so I will get them to do something to it.

Have a track day at Pembrey this Sunday with PhilW on here, be interesting what result I get on the sound test the limit is 105dB there so I'm within that limit but I'm expecting to see less than 100dB's.
Have to pull out of Oulton Park in the 10th as I hopefully have my keys to a new house this week and got a load I want to do before I go back to work in 2 weeks. But I have booked 3 sessions at Trax (Silverstone) on the 4th of Spetember.
