Hi Guys

Been having ongoing issues with erratic idle and almost stalling first thing in mornings on 1.8t, which started a couple of months back.

So far i've changed MAF, Lamda and Temp sensor. If I unplug MAF car runs fine, so I'm guessing possible VAC leak, but dont know where to start.:(

Taken it to local garage and they say no faults are showing when they scan.

Any help appreciated,

Lee

Can you clean the TB without removing it from the multi pin connector, and therfore not needing to reset via VAGcom??

MAF was bought from FPS, going to see if I can get a replacement you never know.

Ill get TB cleaned by local Garage, as I dont know anyone with VAGcom.

Cheers Guys

Mine did this till I serviced it. I cleaned the TB (didnt reset it till a couple of days after so I would say its the cleaning rather than the resetting that did the trick). My throttle body wasn't that dirty IMO but I also changed my spark plugs though which were in pretty bad shape so it might have been that.

As Lee says that's the easiest way to clean it. Be careful when cleaning it don't move the actual valve when your prodding about as I can't imagine that would do it much good.

Gonna Give the TB and Idle valve a clean on the weekend found someone who as Vagcom.

Hopefully sort it
