Yeah you're right Dean :)

Sorry I was referring to the rear ones as in the brochure it states the FR comes with LED Taillight. I was hoping that it meant LED indicator strips like on the new Golf & A3 but never mind I still love my car and like Frac says I saved so much money going for the Leon over the Golf and A3, which I also looked at, so I'm very happy :D

Exactly. I got such a bargain I was not bothered about buying some 10 quid LED's.

Hooked the VCD up to log my 0-60 last night (just to be a big kid) and my best effort was 6.6 seconds on a damp road! That's nearly a good second faster than the book! Is this normal? Or is it because they undersell the Leon so it doesn't kick the golf's bum too much lol

It's normal. They have to test them with a certain amount of weight in.

You're beter than me, I was mainly getting 6.8s - 7 dead. I did get a few lower but the +/- based on the data rate was not great.

Just a quick word of warning. tested my aliexpress cable this evening, and it installed all kinds of malware. I did it in a virtual machine, so no harm done, but you might want to be careful with it.

Its next to the footwell light on the Driver side so not directly under the steering wheel column but to the right. Take a peek and you wont miss the purple coloured connector

Is my Altea a 5P?

Looking for OBD cables and diagnostic software on Ebay and several of the items that I have looked at say that the item is not suitable for use on an Altea 5P.

No mention of 5P on the V5, How would I know whether it is a 5P model?

It is a 2005 (56plate) Altea reference sport 1.9 TDI with a BJB engine

Is it something to do with it having a CAN bus system?

Thanks,

Ron

Found it, thanks a lot mate.

thanks everyone in this thread for their input, i've dont the below with your help guys :)

okay, successfully runned the VCDS on the VM. and enabled:

Activation of the fog lights (NSW) and Cornering ( can this be enabled as well when you set your light on, not the full beam?)
Passenger-side mirror lowering when reversing (yeah, having problem returning back to normal position)
Activation of the horn acknowledgment when lock and unlock the vehicle
Displays the fan speed in AUTO mode
Adjust comfort blinker cycle
Disabling the daytime running lights with the handbrake applied
Activation of the lap timer ( done but cant find it in the menu!!)
Ability to disable the daytime running lights in the CAR menu
Enable Pointer Test / pointer deflection / Staging

and still looking for a way to enable the coming/leaving home function as i dont have the light sensor even though i originally have the option to set its time in my car menu...

You only have the coming home duration right? Thats because you can manually activate it by flashing your full beam when you take the keys out.

I did try with no luck. It would be really useful.

i will be giving this a try, and see what gonna happen...

Activate CH / LH fog lamps
The onboard supply control unit, you have the option of the Seat Leon 5F Coming Home (CH) and Leaving Home (LH) function to put on the fog lights. Thus, in addition to the low beam activated (via LED or halogen headlights) fog lights added.
The following coding is used:
1. Select STG 09 (vehicle power)
2. STG access authorization -> Function 16
3. Enter Unlock Code 31347
4. STG adjustment -> function 10
5. (4) Comfort Lighting Coming Home Select Lights
6. Adjust Value on fog light

Default value: low beam
