What is the cause of the delay? what country are you based in? Took SEAT less than 7 weeks to build and deliver my 290. That wait is unacceptable

When did you order yours mate? Are the UK based? I must say when I was quoted 3 months I was shocked. I'm UK based.

Prague, CZE. There was quite a lot of orders on 290 for our country and it is behind UK, Germany, etc on the priority list unfortunately.

The upshift pops in cupra mode are absolutly insaaaaane !!!!!. I told my mate to give it a blast so I could stand outside and watch it launch off n hear the sound properly and let me tell ya I was veryyy shocked how loud it is !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ordered 290 on Dec1 2015, supposed to have been mid march now its week 17 but at least its confirmed. I have my mk3 1.8 so its not so bad but oh my god the wait...

I'm in the same boat.. UK Order: ordered mine Christmas Eve, was told delivery would be first 2 weeks of march in time for my birthday, week 9 then week 11 (NOW), who knows....

Seat cant give my dealer a date, I'm meant to be driving this to Austria April 1st.
fortunately my dealer is helpful, but autobahn driving won't be the same.

The frustration is real

I suppose the dealers estimate of end of May is about right then, longest wait of my life.

What spec did you go for? First impressions of the car? I've never even seen a 290, the dealer only had 280's which is what I test drove.

'Only' the FR 1.4 ecoTsi DSG. Mediterranean blue, tech pack, winter pack, convenience pack.

The wait was a killer.

So far, it's fantastic. Build quality seems excellent, no rattles and interior easily matches my 2008 Audi. Great to be back in a petrol. Maybe a Cupra next time!

Saw this vid today and in their test 290 makes 0-62 in 5.2s , better than claimed 290 or 280. Could it be a little bit of extra HP and supposedly slightly improved power delivery? Obviously it doesnt seem to be GPS measured but still looks pretty quick.

Ice silver with pano roof and multi black alloys. The dealer said its the best visual set up they have seen so far in the flesh and i agree!
