Yeah - I was just thinking in terms of something being off centre or not flush. It's a sound I've heard on bikes where things like bottom brackets or headsets aren't quite flush, and so they bind at various points when they turn, but given there's not much to go wrong in terms of car wheel bearing installation, it's less likely. It's not a sound I've ever heard on a car before though.
Everything put back together, test drive done, so just chasing issues to do.

That engine's done several thousand rotations now - if it hasn't blown up yet, I think you're OK. My only issue was a boost pipe clip not on properly. When you suddenly lose all power and the car is pogoing down the road, you think the worst, especially when you've just changed your cambelt. Turned out the hose had just popped off.

That's exactly the pipe that popped off when I did it. Must be a rite of passage or something.
It's a pipe I replaced recently, so I made damned sure it was on properly. It's not so bad if you just need to get it onto the pancake pipe again, but if you need to do the intercooler side as well, the only way I could really do it properly was by taking the foglight and grill out.
I might have to have a think about a splitter - maybe when I respray my front bumper.
Which reminds me - my nearside fog isn't working. It might be that I didn't plug it back in when I put a new horn in, but if I do need a new bulb, does anyone know which it is? I'm seeing H3 when I look online.

You maybe on to something there.
Ran the car for 10 miles or so to get it squeaking then jacked it up.
Slight play in the bearing.
Went to the garage i use and its going in Tuesday.
Sead theyre busy but will try n get it done.
If they dont do it, I'll be booking it in for later in the month.
See if that sorts it.
Today I was an idiot and believed a part from Euro Car Parts would fit, even though I gave them my reg number and they said it was definitely the right one. Namely handbrake cables.

Euros are so hit and miss. The trouble is that you don't need to know anything about cars to work there. Last year they sold me an OSR caliper in a NSR box and didn't seem at all fussed when I pointed that out to them.
Kind of like Halfords really.
It's lovely when you get someone who knows what they're talking about though.

Fixed the boost hose (hadn't properly seated the spring clip) and took it for a longer run. Seems to be heating up faster than before but it's not overheating. No leaks spotted either. Long running EML has yet to switch back on so that's good.

changed my clutch master cylinder this weekend because im losing pressure in the clutch pedal and struggling to change gear, annoying bc new dmf csc and clutch bout 6 mo ago. seems not as hard to shift once its warmed up..
bled a few times still got the same issue, pump the clutch and get somewhat better and can just about shift gear. No outward leaks...gonna replace all the seals in the clutch pipe connectors and the whole bleeder block and see what happens.
