A proper VAG specialist garage is useful for stuff like this.Yeh, hasnt got the bearing drone at speeds and doesnt have the cracking noise you get from a cv. No play in the bearing.
Its a wierd one.
Its fine when i 1st jump in the car. Starts making the noise once ive done a few miles but i always get the noise on roundabouts. Like a scraping noise can be heard from inside the car.
Havnt noticed anyone look at the car as ive driven past em wondering what the noise is so not sure how loud it is outside.
Its a definate head scratcher.
That engine's done several thousand rotations now - if it hasn't blown up yet, I think you're OK. My only issue was a boost pipe clip not on properly. When you suddenly lose all power and the car is pogoing down the road, you think the worst, especially when you've just changed your cambelt. Turned out the hose had just popped off.Everything put back together, test drive done, so just chasing issues to do.
Might fit the sideskirt extensions tomorrow cuz the splitter looks alright

That splitter looks really nice - is it secure?
Going to get this sorted then possibly put the car up for sale.
Got a letter through the door today from my bank letting me know i can borrow at a decent rate.
So may get something more modern now that i dont have access to a workshop.
Tbh, ive been looking at Audi A1s for a while.
Believe it or not, one of the issues is the boost pipe popping off. It's the drivers side intercooler one, dunno why it's such a pain
Spoiler's pretty secure, got 14 bolts in it. Wouldn't stand on it or anything but I'm not worried about it falling off
You maybe on to something there.Yeah - I was just thinking in terms of something being off centre or not flush. It's a sound I've heard on bikes where things like bottom brackets or headsets aren't quite flush, and so they bind at various points when they turn, but given there's not much to go wrong in terms of car wheel bearing installation, it's less likely. It's not a sound I've ever heard on a car before though.
Today I was an idiot and believed a part from Euro Car Parts would fit, even though I gave them my reg number and they said it was definitely the right one. Namely handbrake cables.
Twats.
I would advise more than pritt stickWent to fit the Maxton Design sideskirt extensions;
Instructions: Clean the surfaces
Me: Gotcha
Instructions: Key the extension serface
Me: Umm... I can do that
Instructions: Apply glue
Me: ...... glue?
Instructions: Which we don't include
Me: Muthafu.....
I would advise more than pritt stick
Best get the PVA on that.
Nope, can't, I ate it all
May see if the Sikaflex I've got somewhere is still usable
