Cheers, yeah I go to uni at Bangor, but spend most my time up in the mountains of snowdonia! Some amazing roads up there!

Old A4 would be a good choice, mate had one and was really nice. Only SEAT estates is the cordoba vario from like 2000 but not many of them around, and more recently the Exeo, but that's based on the old A4 anyway! lol.

I wouldnt mind either, whichever crops up cheapest. Just has to be estate with tdi engine in it lol

I was severley tempted by this mk2 golf 5 door. Looked like a gti with the big bumpers and bbs wheels, didnt take a proper look though, just saw the price and was like hmmmm... lol but need an estate really because of the dog..lol

Before I got the Leon I was tempted by a few estates, as one of main reasons I went from Ibiza to Leon was because I needed more space. But I fell in love with Leon as soon as test drove one, so estate idea went out the window! lol.

If you're gonna get a tdi estate work horse... why don't you sell the leon and get a cupra?? So then you've got a lovely fast Leon for special occasions, and a car for economy and daily commuting?

spent too much time on mine now. Its not worth much to anyone but me anymore, i was tempted to get a cheap cupra but who knows..

I want to get mine looking nice, you never know, might end up with a different engine in it at some point.

...can anyone say VR6?:cartman::rolleyes:

Yeah I know what you mean. When I sold my ibiza it killed me undoing all the mods I'd done just so I could get a decent price when selling it  all that hard work and effort just going to waste!

Well there's plenty of threads in the tdi section with people putting in the pd150 turbo and upgrading injectors and other bits and bobs and apparently getting 180 - 200bhp which is pretty impressive!

New Headunit!

Ordered a new headunit over the weekend and it arrived today :funk:

It's the Sony CDX-GT45IP, so I've finally moved into the 21st century with Ipod control :D

I've just fitted it (getting ipod lead from the back of unit through to just below lighter socket was pain in the arse!), and it sounds amazing. Much better than my Pioneer (and I thought that was loud!), ipod control is really good too.

But more importantly, my stereo now switches off when I take the key out :happy:

I'll take some photos of it later in my car, but here's a photo I found on internet for anyone interested...

Very similar to mine, the GT33!

Unfortunately that means you'll now get the Sony beeps whenever you turn off the ignition! I wonder if there's a way to turn them off?

Already turned this off [B)]

Not sure how similar yours is to mine, but the volume/select knob on mine when held brings up a setup menu, and if keep pressing the knob it eventually says 'BEEP ON' press the skip button and this then reads 'BEEP OFF' and no more annoying beeps :D

I found it pretty easy to get my cable into the 'change pot', I used a coat hanger and some blue tac :funk:

The only way I could see/feel was to thread it through back right, and down by drivers foot well, and then across and into beneath lighter socket tray thing.

Had a look at threading it straight down as I ideally wanted inside the tray, but just couldn't see a possible route!

Thats what I did.... works well really. My lucky passengers can play my apps while the music is playing through my iPhone.

Photos not brilliant (as my camera is a waterproof shockproof type one it can't cope with taking photos in the dark!) but here we are anyway...
