how good is the immobiliser on the mk1 leon cupra (2004). is it worth waxing £50 odd on a steering wheel lock or anything like that...? or can i be confident that the car wont get jumped

my mum has a mk1 leon 1.4 and every time she starts it up the immobiliser light comes on and the engine cuts back out, the stealers say it needs new key and reciver, obviously, anyone here had this problem? how did you get it sorted?

Well here goes after the garage fixed my sump they called to say it wont start it keeps stalling all the time but it did this to me about a month ago and i replaced the Key coil reader which goes around the barrel and it worked but now its doing it all over again the garage think it might have...

Sorry, I can't find a related thread. Can anyone confirm that the alarm and immobiliser comes as standard. On the seat.co.uk website it appears you need to manually add it as an option even though it is free of charge?!

what type of immobiliser is in the mk3 1.4mpi, i've searched and found this thread but i am unsure if the 1.4 and the cupra ahve different type of immobilisers. My key has a transponder chip in it, so i'm assuming there is an immobiliser. Anyhelp is much appreciated, thanks

I need to get another key for my Arosa. Now, the manual says it has to be cut by Seat as it has an immobiliser built in to it, but it really doesn't look like it to me. Is it likely to have an immobiliser?
