Yes all you need is the carriers. I got mine from ebay but there are a few VAG specialist if you do a quick google search that can supply the carriers about £100 for the pair if I remember correctly

Are these able to be fitted after fitting discs or are they only able to be fitted with the dics off? Am doing mine tomorrow and if i decide at a later date to get them for an extra £10 or so will it be easy enuff just to put on after taking the wheel off??

you need to completely disassemble the stub axles and hub to fit the new splash guards. To be honest its worth doing all in one go. If you don't do it you will have to releave your current splash gaurds lip for the larger disc to fit.

I think I read somewhere that you are supposed to replace bearings on the hub after fitting these, is that right?

My understanding was that the hub just bolts off the rear beam without interfering with the bearings at all?

I have retofitted the 256mm rears to my own car but would like to fit the proper splash shields if I could.

Neil.

My experience was that the stub axle bolts to the axle but to get at those bolts you need to remove the hub. To remove the hub you will need some form of puller.

The reason you are meant to replace the bearing is because when you pull the hub it can destroy the bearing its a very simple cage bearing that push fits into the hub and normally gets left on the stub axle.

The front splash guard you can retrofit when ever its a dodle you may want to wip the disc off to give you better access but not necessary.
