Ok....FINALLY i have time to post up some pictures and some updates.

I'll start from where i left off which was...after i put the car on the road the turbo actuator burst a power steering pipe (or so i thought) the job seemed to be an awkward fix, so i decided to take the engine out again to sort everything out.
Once that was done i realised it was just a copper washer that was crushed (thank god) and that was where the fluid was leaking, so sorted that out, cleaned everything out and on went the light bulb...i figured i'd go the extra mile and get a few other bits and bobs done.
At first i was going to use a 2.0ltr bottom end and do something crazy with the head...but decided against it.
Instead i got the head ported along with the inlet and exhaust manifolds. I also decided to go for a new CAM too, i got newmans to make me one, it is different from the ones they offer but is my little secret :p anyway i had that done, fixed a few other things that needed tweaked and put everything back together. here are some pics...ENJOY, and let me know what you guys think...

here is a pic of the head after the port, compared to a standard one...

so that was all the head work etc...here are some pics of the engine assembly

i actually had to clock the turbo a little more than that in the pic, and re-design the turbo actuator bracket...

after this i hit a brick wall as i someone had thrown a main radiator pipe away and unfortunately it was on back order so couldn't do much until i got that...i then found out it would be 4 weeks before i get one so i decided to go custom until i got the OEM part.

i got the engine built up, started it and took it for a run, (now bearing in mind this was still not mapped) no fault codes came up and it drove beautifully (although on idle i get A LOT of white smoke, probably due to overfuelling with the bigger nozzles)
Now to the fun part...pictures of the car!!
ok here they are...

Absolutely epic dude!!! :D
Congrats
Will be very interested in power figures (with proper map :))
Who are you using?

the map i'm having someone from europe write it for me, i'll put it on myself then get some dyno results and send them back to him till we get the perfect map.

love the colour, are you still useing the seat sport fmic?

yes still using the SS FMIC, i think it is good for 300bhp, will find out when i do more logs at at various speeds and temperatures. if there was a better one i'd get it but its so difficult to find one with an inlet and outlet on the same side. Plus the seat sport one is really efficient as the fins are very close to each other.

The ss cooler can't cope with 300bhp. It'll leak quite badly at the joins in the end tanks.
I had one made at serck in Kilmarnock that was cheaper than an ss cooler and is more efficient and stronger. Will be worth looking into.
You'll start getting boost leaks pretty quickly with it

Can also vouch for the above, as can a couple of others. I know of at least 4 that have gone on cars running less than 300. Mine went at around 230-240.

Isn't it more the pressure that it can't take and starts to blow, as you diesel lads are crackers on your boost compared to petrol cars?

Can't wait to see this mapped, bet itl be a weapon!

Mines peaking at 1.8bar, as were 2 of the others that have blown, and I'd imagine Uzi's car will be boosting somewhere between 2-2.4bar once mapped.
