Alloy wheel warranty

I’ve noticed whilst washing my car (LCR 04 plate) that one of my alloys is bubbling and the lacquer is coming off, I took the car to my local dealers (Cheshunt, Herts) and pointed this out, but as the wheel in question has a small (and I mean small) kerb mark on it they wasn’t interested, he didn’t even look at the bubbling, he said as its scuffed they wont change it, end off!

I’ve done a search on here and it would seem that other people have had this same problem, but surely the wheel is still faulty with or without the kerbing!?!?!?!?!

So, it looks like the dealers wont do anything for me, so I guess the next step is to get them refurbished. Does anyone know of a good place to get this done locally to where I live (Ware, Hertfordshire)?? And what sort price am I looking at? Or should I argue some more with the dealers??

Seems like I may have the same problem then as mine are loosing the laqure from the back of the wheel but I have managed to curb one... It is not a small curb either with 2 spokes suffering scrape damage.

I will just make myself a pain till they swap them!!!

Seems to be a common problem, mine are starting to get (only small at the mo) bubbles under the coating. I'd say that they are faulty irrespective of any kerbing, unless of course the bubbling is around the kerbed mark. I did manage to get one wheel changed by dealer due to poor finish, and will look to get these changed too if the bubbling gets worse.

If you don't get any luck from the dealer you can always take the matter to SEAT UK.

Yeah it would seem that other manufacturers like Toyota, BMW and even VW swap wheels over without a problem but Seat and Ford wont budge!!

A bloke at work has a Focus ST170 and has the same problem, Ford said no chance!

I tried and failed - Seat Uk were no help either.

They said that they just go on the opinion / advice of the dealer.

I was told that it was fair wear and tear and that the bubbling could be caused by any small scratch / chip.
