Got some seat sport alloys off another member on here, bashed a couple of new tyres on and they were good to go, minus the odd scrape on one of them. Maybe get them refurbed later in the year.

Slightly curbed one

Few small plans for it, gonna attempt to colour code side strips and mirrors myself. WIth my very unpractical brain.

Also a silly question to anybody, how do i get one of them small pictures in my signature that links into this thread? Thanks

Cheers for browsing (if anyone does :D) :ban:

Just added a chrome centre grill myself recently, the new allows look good are they 16's?

You need to get some HID's and LED sidelights... these look like candles!

Chrome centre grill (can just about see it)

I took this one the other night, it's really really difficult to get a photo of HID's with them looking really blue...

Check out my readers ride for some subtle mods ideas ... ;)

The bumps strips are pratically destroyed by taking them off, best thing to do is order new ones from the dealer, and get them sprayed and fit them to the car.
The mirror covers just pop off and can be sprayed and re-fitted, the paint code for the car can be found in the boot, under the carpet next the the spare wheel. ;)

Under the "User CP" (Top of the page, under the image banner) section of the click on the "Edit signature" on the left.

much better with the alloys mate, yeah as Gareth suggested, get some new side strips and spray them then fit....or mask the car off and i mean if ur doing it this way mask like the fukk like off with tapes and bags, dont want any overspray..

key for good spray painting

take ur time....

rub down with wet and dry,
wipe down,
primer maybe 2-3 coats on mist applications,
paint in mist applications (by which i mean light coats, dont batter on the paint as it will run and look terrible),
finally once dry and looking good, light coats of laquer to protect and seal. maybe 2-3 coats aswell

Like Scott says, but in between each coat, a *little* wet and dry...

Cheers for the advice. I will be buying new side strips and painting them off the car. THen if they turn out a disaster i can just get some more :p also means i can do it somewhere warm rather than freezing outside

The alloys are 16s yeh. They feel so much lighter to steer with..unless thats just the ice

Those candle lights were awful, ive got some philips extreme (i think) ones in at the moment which are much better, but i will be getting HID's in the future, they look brilliant

Just getting the bits together to do a DIY refurb on the alloys as well. Going to do them a Gun Metal sort of colour hopefully but nothing to dark. Wish me luck

Managed to clean all 4 took ages so many tar spots. And also sorted out the lip on the one picture below... pretty much the whole lip was badly curbed.

Only got the first two done at the minute. Ive been following the thread on here (roughly) think it cost me about £50 for all the bits and pieces. You could probably get away with missing a few things off the list but it depends if you are a perfectionist or not. Mine are nowhere near perfect especially the paint finish, but happy to say I diyed it ;)

Make sure you have loads of time and motivation. The sanding is sooo boring but the painting is good fun. Good luck if you do it, will this be the first wheels youve had a crack at refurbing?

Saying all that I dont know if I wanna put them on the car, pretty sure I will curb them plus it looks great on black steelies atm :p
