Thought about starting your own thread than sniping on another thread. If you had useful things to say I'm sure it would develop.
How is an Altea a van??
It has the same sound setup along with the Leon and Toledos, therefore it will still apply to improving sound and not everyone has or has the access to 18yrs sound system installation experience or a large budget, so these improvements are here for the majority of us on here.

I drive a New Toledo and dont consider it a van, not much different in ize on the exterior than most cars, aboout 1.5" in height only!
There are better ways to share your experiences, just put it on here and let everyone pick up instead of saying one thing is wrong when it does work for others.
EDIT: That would be the Altea XL (hint in the XL bit that it larger than a std Altea) also that is a completly different language so different meaning to us than you!

a) Pls follow the link I posted, it is so that in DK more than 90% of the alteas sold (app. 4800 pcs) are sold as Vans.
b) Åls note that I did NOT say the solution from Tell is wrong!!????? I only posted an additional option for an equal solution, and I said that the Blaupunkt plastic ring will fit without any cutting.
Also it is a fact that putting the tweeters below/behind your knees will not make the sound better in your (any) car - one execption is some kick-panel installations (no rule without exceptions).
What is wrong or not is up to you...

There are more reasons for the spacers/adaptors:
- Depth (even with shallow speakers) is a problem
- distance from front of speaker to back of the grille
- size of the hole dosent fit most speakers
An alternative to the plastic spacers would be to cut some in wood yourself.

I fitted Aplines to mine and had the adaptor in, took them out because I could hear the slpeaker cone slightly touching the grille with certain music types, they fitted well and didnt contact the window at all, thought the sound was a bit stronger too.
Cut some wood ?, I thought you were pushing those Blaunpunkt ones being the expert on all things Altea and New Leon even though you don't own one. That I would say is more of a challenge to cut some wood than buy a piece of plastic that you chop down to size.
I doubt you can buy the Blaunpunkt ones in the UK either.
No arguement untill an 'expert' arrived on speakers who doesn't as yet own the car as I recall, hasn't tried to fit the speakers in the said car that they don't own and hasn't bought the stuff either but pick order numbers out of the internet and tells everyone else they are incorrect. Oh and tells Altea owners that they drive 'vans' and backs it up with a Seat web site that says it's a van.

I read this as you have limited experience (if any real) with car hifi, so I can undestand that that you are so proud that you were able to install the infinity and autoleads parts in your Altea. Naturally, that have lead you to believe that this is the only right solution...
I have played a bit with the Leon 1P (had it since april this year...)and even with an Altea (have one as a company car - reg. as a van...).
In my Leon I used the Aluminum rings from Exact, and for the Altea we used a router to shape the rings, of MDF, due to the shape of the Pioneer speakers installed.
Blaupunkt is available in UK, just order them via your Seat dealer...

Apline SXE-1725S, not very good, had them from Peugeot206, they were good in it, not the Toledo. Std's are better, wait for cash to get set of higher spec ones and some deadening fitted.
Hey, it is a 30€ speaker!! If they are better than the OEM speakers then it is a good investment

I find your attitude a bit of a comedy since it's so transparent and childish at best. Obviously there isn't a right and wrong method of what you do with your speakers but you don't go on a web site and flame someone when they are offering advice and what someone is doing originates from a post that you put up in 2005 and what something like 100+ Altea and Leon's owners must have done since then. I been putting car speakers in since 1984 and yes this is boring but also amusing since some men are so typical.... that it amuses. Funny that women don't have to do the size of their **** thing but guys do....
As said if you want to give some useful advice set up your own thread on what you have done with your New Leon on the hifi thread rather than ego tripping when you don't even own the car !.
