Tried aquarium silicone.... hasn't worked, don't know if it's too cold!

Edit:- 18:10 04/12/09 - It seems to have stuck ok now, just not evenly all round.
Certainly doesn't feel like it'll fall off any time soon.
Tried removing the pins on the top of the grill to take it out and get the job done properly but just couldn't do it - are these just plastic pins?

I will be collecting my chrome grille kit on Monday, and would also like to know how to fit it. Anyone?

Another thing, does anyone know how this will affect my insurance? I'm non-modified at the moment.

From a legal standpoint any change from manufactures spec should be declared. However something as small as a chrome grille kit will not be noticed and most companys will charge you atleast a admin fee for declaring it. Its your choice at the end of the day as insurance companys can refuse to payout for so much as a non factory sticker being on your car if they really want a off day.

Yeah, but it's a factory part though, from a dealer.

Again from a legal standpoint you should declare even factory option you spec on a brand new car or a used car for that matter, but again like I said alot of people dont and its all personal choice. Theres people who run highly modified cars non declared which is stupid but as far as a few optional extras factory fitted (depending on what they are) are in your case a subtle dealer bought accessory you can get away with it. Although as I said if an insurance company really doesnt want to pay out they could call you up on it however I can imagine its rare they do.

Edit I thought I would add chances are they wouldnt even notice the chrome grilles.

Could you post some pics when its done please? I'm looking for subtle mods like this that will make a nice improvement. Also do they sell the Chrome Vent surrounds for the interior?

Yes, can be bought from the dealer too. I got the vent surrounds and the gear surround.

Thanks mate, i saw the chrome grill on ebay and it comes with the small grilles by the lights too but i think it looks better to just put the middle part on like you have. How much do the seat dealers charge for the Vent surrounds?

Thanks :)

Yeah middle only, the rest looks tacky!
I Think the vent surrounds are about £25...

I tried silicone but it hasn't been too good. don't want to use Super Glue as it'll set too fast and usually leaves white marks behind if you make mistakes. Was just hoping somewhere else someone else has fitted one before.
I really don't think the two side grills work with the chrome, it certainly doesn't get many votes on here from what I remember.
Also I never ever seen any Mk4 Ibiza or Cordoba with them installed, only ever seen centre grills with them on.

I have seen one car in the same colour as mine with the grilles on, and it looked quite smart to me. I've photoshopped how they would look on a similar car - I do think they go quite well with the blue.

I think the centre only looks best to be honest.

I fitted mine with superglue, but if you do this i would recommend covering all exposed areas up first.

Some of the glue dripped and once its on its not coming off. Luckily my cars silver so its not noticeable unless you get up close
