Black Leon Cupra with a hint of Zaino

I finally got a free saturday to apply my Zaino

Firstly started off with a wash as the rain had left everything mucky
Oh yeah i have given in and bought a Schmitt, only a wheel one though, i still see them as sponges

It was was alright actually much better for cleaning the arches but it's size made it hard to get into the fiddly bits of my wheels. It doesn't hold much water either most of it end up on the road before you even bring the mitt to the wheel

Anyways i still had to deswirl my roof as i was saving that for rotary practice but couldn't wait any longer

So SFX 2 pad with IP soon sorted the Swirls, although there is plenty of deeper scratches on the roof which is alittle dissapointing, will need wet sanding to really sort them, damn prevoius owner with a water blade !!

Now after the PC'ing I "cleaned" the car with Isopropynol mixed 50/50 with distilled water, the car was literally squeeky clean which was a nasty feeling

Next I applied a coat of Z-8 to the car in prep for the Z-5 Pro

Now the Nerdy bit

Z-5 Pro in the Mixing bottle (coincidently that was exactly enough to give the Leon 3 coats, which was abit of luck)

ZFX added to the Z-5 Pro .... 4 drops worth

A couple of the Zaino mix curing

I applied the Zaino with a Microfibre App pad sprizted with Z8 and applied the mix in straight lines

I left for 30 - 40 mins to cure and then buffed off with a Concours buffing towel

Then onto the next coat and so on

Left the final coat nearly an hour as it was getting dark and colder, ending up buffing it off in the dark last night ! got loads of funny looks from people walking by

So got up this morning a took some piccies, pleased to find i hadn't missed any bits either

Overall i'm dead chuffed with the slickness of the finish, worth all the effort as well, If anyone is thinking about doing it, i'd recommend them to go for it

Looking forward to the 6 months durability from it as well

All sorted for the Castle Coombe Action Day now then :D

Thanks for reading

I seem to be able to get a mirror finish on all BUT the boot - the paint looks like it's covered in lots of tiny dimples whereas the rest of the car comes up a treat.

hmmm i'd suspect a respray or a smart repair by the sounds of things :(

does it get rid of swirl marks?? or anyone know anything that does??

No Zaino won't remove swirls you'll need a polish like Menzerna Intensive Polish (P091L)

Has enough cut to take out swirl but doesn't has as much lubrication as some of the other Menzerna Polishes so will be easier to break down by hand :)

Badges weren't straight so i took them off .... there's 2 marks on the bumper either side of the number plate where it looks like something has been repaired ... dunno but i'm sure once the PC arrives i'll get it looking like the rest of the car :)

where you buy the pc from?

Off fleabay - just not had a chance to get around to it yet - reading the detailingworld forums persuaded me that it would be a good investment, people like Tyler etc - the difference in quality of finish is out of this world.
