Hi all wondering if u could help me out, my car has been remapped and has got a viper induction kit fitted to it. but it keeps losing power and brings on the ecu light. ive took it bak to the dealers and they say all they can do is put it back to the standard map. i havent got a vag com cable or anything like that. was just wondering if any of u have had the same problem and how u sorted it. thanks alot for any help. rob

unplug the maf and drive your car for a short while, see if this cures it, if so the mafs knacked, common problem with oiled filters mate.

what warning light has come on?

so the dealer should know who mapped it?

was the light on when you bought it?
what dealer?

try the maf thing, or reset the ecu and see if it comes back on mate (make sure you have radio code though)

When it looses power does it sound like it's miss firing. If so it could be a coil pack. But as above mate try and get pic of the warning light up.

no the light wasnt on when i bought it. it came on the same day.
errr gk seat in derby. they dont know cuz they havent got much info on the car.
they say they can jus map it back 2 standard because thats wat they think is the cause...

the map wouldnt directly cause this, unless it was a cowboy mapper....

could be a number of things.

does it run rough, jerky?

maf knackerd, coilpack, boost leak

try the ecu reset, then the maf, if not then it needs to go on adiagnostics machine to run up a fault code

i used to loose power over a period of driving and kept on bringin engine light on every 2 weeks. vag com said boost leak at D.V checked it and was a boost leak. check the hoses for slight tears.....

iv had trouble this week and turned out that 2 coils were faulty, also had a cracked spark plug that was arking out, this brought the engine management light on and sent me into limp mode

unplug the -tive battery connecton, leave for 30 mins, reconnect, ecu reset.... make sure you have the radio code because youll need it.
