CD Chager Mk3 and Mk4

Can anyone tell me if a CD Changer (Sony T69) that fits into a Mk4 ibiza standard head unit will fit into a standard Mk3 headunit?

Are the connections all the same etc?

I have a 6 disk changer in my mk4 that I removed from my old mk3 before I px'd it
both cars have the factory head unit
grundig in the mk3 and an alana in the mk4

I just needed to buy a new cable as the one in the mk3 wasn't comming out in a hurry (factory fit)
it was about £20
