Chino's Ibiza FR 20VT - 7.5 years on...

I made 287lb/ft on my Ibiza and that got stick every day and was fine

And that was with the lightened flywheel so boost used to come in VERY early

We've had bam engines in with rods that have snapped with just over 300 ftlbs and they have stronger rods lol

And your torque came in very linear if I remember your graph correctly and not all at once low down?

If your clutch does go, just get an uprated one!

Thanks Damo...my flipping scanner is on the blink, otherwise I'd have the graph up for you to have a ganders at. I'll scan it at work on monday, with APR it's fairly progressive I think.

lol I had to re-read it when I saw it!!! Was talking to John at awesome who has as FR with a K04 conversion and he says that similar to his torque figure?!

Aye, mine was a very good torque curve, nice paek with no silly spike

That was my last RR results (pre lightened flywheel so it did come in earlier with the flywheel and obviously ignore the bit where it all goes tits up due to blowing gasket..). You can see how well it held torque too..

Peak torque would still be at the same rpm though I woulda thought, same with the boost, just with engine revving quicker it feels like its boosting quicker, if you get what I mean? Will see at next rolling road day when mines on with the diff haha and is the graph above from when the rollers were over reading like fook?

What's next on the agenda chino? I see on ccuk your money tree has died? I'll be joining you soon enough lol hope you carry on with this, it's probably one of the most sorted ibizas with all the little bits and bats you have done ontop of everything else!

Scott, I quite fancy a lower brace like yours tbh, other than that no major plans. Would love a diff but shy of winnning some cash it's not going to happen anytime soon

The diff is good mate but its alot of money to spend on one mod but worthwhile if you plan on keeping the car for a bit

Torque comes in early! Definite rod bending torque that at that rpm! Bet it feels like your neck snapping when you get your foot down low down the revs haha with torque been so high I was expecting it to be dead progressive and having max at like 4k rpm or something!

Yeah it has a helluva kick! Not often I'm having to use it all out tbh mate, usually a little throttle is enough to leave most ppl.

Haha I bet, mines similar torque curve, except it holds it abit longer before it drops off, but mine is 30ftlbs less than yours! Yours won't half take off! Love them mapped like this rather than fannying on up to a peak later on in the rev range, much more fun!

Beauty of it is it can just take off in any gear with the torque, but it's so smooth well mannered around town, glad I didn't swap out for Revo now.

Not too much been going on of recent, just been driving and enjoying. Oh and paying car insurance, ouch! Have got Ultimate Dubs and The Fast Show on the horizon though so gave it a good wash and wax:

Also, got it booked in for new brake fluid and finally getting the braided hoses on this month

To Do: Get Powerflex front ARB bushes on, not sure when tho, maybe next month!
