Bought a Skoda Fabia rear wiper from eBay last night and found the time to fit it today. Took all of 5mins.

IMG00222-20101017-1630.jpg

This is just a little comparison of how the two wipers look. No doubt which looks better!

IMG00223-20101017-1630.jpg

Old wiper arm. The blade was shagged too, 50% of it was broken and flapped in the wind

IMG00224-20101017-1635.jpg

Fabia arm looks much better, sleeker and wipes better. Very easy mod and cheap too. Well worth it.

IMG00218-20101016-1808.jpg

Just a sneaky little shot from my phone after a tunnel run last night. Stance is virtually perfect with the 40/40 Weitec Ultra GT suspension setup.

Car is filthy though :(, needs a wash BADLY!!

Trust me its worth the dodgy colours just for the noise it mates :)

Looking at about £900 for a 10month policy this year :(

What are all the parts needed for the Jetex other than the filter? Where did you get the joiner piece? I want to order one :)

£900!!! Wow, that's alot. I pay £550 fully comp. How old are you if you don't mind me asking? I'm with Greenlight Insurance.

Im only 22, Insurance is a killer. Thats with a totally clean license and three years no claims now. Ill have to give Greenlight a try

Cheers mate, may give him a call this week. Funds are tight this month but hoping to get a cheeky mod in, either the Jetex or get my HID's ordered.... :)

I'm 24 with 5 years NCB. I was with Bell Direct before but the renewal come through earlier this year in March and it was £900 from £950. That's not an acceptable drop imo as this is my 2nd Cupra R and have had a totally clean license.

I had no problems with Bell except the renewal price, they didn't seem to care about losing out on my money each year so sod them I say.

Rung Greenlight after the Bell Direct call, and it brings me a price drop of around £400!! AWESOME! The bloke I spoke to on the phone was really cool aswell, he was asking about my car and what I had planned for it etc. He said fitting coilovers, an fmic, a full turbo back zorst with sports cat and getting the car remapped to significantly bigger power would only increase my policy by max £50. Really can't argue with that.

Oh he also mentioned that when I turn 25 next year, my policy on the LCR will be under £400 fully comp, £370 was the rough estimate I was given. :)

WHAT?! Thats awesome mate! Im going to have to give them a call :funk:

Im with Bell, always seem to quote me ~£4-500 cheaper than any other company lol. Their renewal price last year was actually an increase for some crazy reason, so I went on the website and did a quote as if I was a new customer and it was £300 cheaper than the renewal price, called them up pretty angrily and asked if they were trying to rip me off and they apologised and beat the new quote. Couldnt ask for more that :)

Defiantly need to try Greenlight though by the sounds of it...

Yeah I know, had a right result [B)]

Defo worth trying elsewhere.. I was recommended to try them by a member on here and so so glad I did now!

I had a similar experience with my 1st Cupra R. I had that when I was 20 and was paying £1350 fully comp, next year turned 21 and the renewal came through at over £1400... WTF.. lol. I did same thing got a quote online was cheaper by over £300 and ending up paying £950 odd once they saw sense. I have no idea how Bell work out renewals but I think they need to go back to school tbh..

Greenlight all the way for me now though. The bloke was like we reward young drivers who prove they can earn NCB on high performance cars and are mod friendly. Perfect for me. :D

Back on the Jetex sorry mate, did you get the silicone joiner as part of the £80? Cheers.

Just did a quote on their website, will see what it comes back as :D

Yep, got the jetex cone (bigger rubber ended one instead of the chrome one), alloy joiner, silicone joiner, all the clips needed and delivery for under £80. You know you want to ;)

Fingers crossed it's a pleasant surprise for you mate. I know alot of it depends on area code though, no idea if my area is 'cheap' for insurance etc but I was sure happy with the price they gave me and soon jumped ship from Bell-ends Direct. ;)

Awesome stuff, Bill is going to get a call soon then...

I did just accidentally lash out 70 notes on the fleabay for some new HID's though, oops :p

Quote was £1072 with all every mod declared including the FMIC im planning to put on, covered on a like for like basis. Not bad really, bell was £895 for 10 months (which works out exactly the same over 12 months as the Green light policy), but only with suspension, exhaust and filter declared and not like for like, and a bigger excess.

So all things considered its a good quote!! Cheers for the tip off :)

Next week ill buy my HID's, going to get this kit: http://www.hids4u.co.uk/h7-35w-slim-proplus-xenon-hid-conversion-kit.html

Mate of mine with an Ibiza has them and they have been perfect for nearly 18months now

Not bad mate. It will drop alot as you get old like me ;)

Bell just lost my respect really for not rewarding my clean driving on a 225bhp car at 20 years old. I feel alot more that Greenlight are a people company rewarding the careful performance car drivers out there. Suits me down to the ground.

Nice HID kit! Enjoy...!

Mine have been delivered today so I've been told, can't wait to get home and check them out. Then get them fitted.

Oh I ordered a the Jetex setup off Bill too
That could well turn up before the weekend aswell. Get in!

I hope so as its been around the £1k mark since I started driving :(

Have a look at this mate: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Silicone-Perf...CarParts_SM&hash=item43a25a8281#ht_1536wt_905 Might be a cheap alternative to changing your pipes!

It defo will mate. I thought mine was going to hang around the £1k mark forever it seemed.. But since talking to Greenlight and approaching 25, it's taking a nice nose dive now.

Roughly half at £500ish fully comp has certainly free'd up funds for the car

Cheers for the link mate, might use some of that or standard red duck tape (I have some in the garage) for my silicone joiner if I give the Jetex a go.

I've got all the links I need now to order an Apexi power intake if I'm not happy with the way the Jetex looks in my bay.

Just to give you another guide for insurance, here's mine :)

23, 4yrs NCB, Protected NCB, No Claims in last 5yrs, No points now but one conviction in last 5yrs that I still have to declare, Mods declared - £700 Adrian Flux. This would have been £600 without NCB protection and I hope next year that my premium is no more that £500 after owning the car for 3yrs and proving myself.

I think I will have to give Adrian Flux a call! Last year they quoted me £1500 :(

Before fitting the FMIC, would you mind fitting the charge pipe and doing a little review on any changes that you notice :)?

I was going to fit everything in one day... :(

Ok no worries. The charge pipe is a very simple job, 10mins max really. Do you get the upper boost hoses with the FMIC kit (charge pipe to left-hand side & Inlet Mani to right-hand side)?

Ahh, maybe I can fit it one night after work then instead of waiting until a sat to do the whole thing. Ill see what I can do :)

Erm... Not sure? I dont need the inlet mani to right hand side as I have the forge cold side kit, but would need something on the charge pipe to left hand side as I have the crappy standard black plastic one at the moment. Hope so..!!
