Lincoln/40,000 ft.
just a general mechanic.

A bit like the "Audi Master Technicians"

no thanks, your far better off taking the car to an independent VAG Specialist, rather than a main Dealer.

There is a difference, one will do a top job first time then take your money, the other will take your cash and "hope to solve the problem"

:D

Too true my friend, too true!![:@]

Ohhhhhh right, thanks for clearing that up!!!! So anyone know of any good independant VAG specialists in North East that fit cruise control and for that matter any issues regarding VAG cars.

kevh - I'm doing my Leon's next weekend... you're welcome to bring yours round to mine & we do them side by side?

I'm happy to guide you through it etc. It's an easy enough job.

Bought the stalk & loom from teeside VW from ebay for 80 odd quid.

I have vag-com so can enable it if required (I'd be doing it this weekend if I'd remembered to bring the lead home from Glasgow!)

Drop me an email or PM if you want :)

JKM Performance fitted mine for £150! Quick easy and most importantly, I didnt have the chance to f%*k things up myself!

Diesels have much less work since they're pre wired from the ECU to the relay box area. 1.8T's have to be wired from the ECU to the relay box, plus all the internal wiring too.

The offer was to kevh as I guess he's closer to me

Tyne & Wear is a bit too far I reckon for you to get to Portsmouth ;)

But the Teeside VW instructions are really very good (they're designed for VW technicians, so they have to be idiot proof )

Lols, need to read slower and pay more attention to detail.

Fitted to mine to my LCR, 3 hours (ish). A bit more tricky i think than the TDI's, you have to fiddle about with pins to the ECU. This took a while on mine as there were already blanks in thier place. For anyone following the VW teeside guide, for the pin allocations use the one with the most engine codes as this applies to the 1.8T.
