Cruise Control retrofit

Help required in Edinburgh

Hi all, just joined this forum.

Google kindly took me to this thread. I've just received a retrofit stalk from Kufatec but no instructions. Have had a look at the PDF on VWTeeside's website and it looks like i'm well out of my depth.

Any recommendations for a company in Edinburgh, Lothians, Fife or central belt that would do a good job?

Thx

I had Hayzy Dayz do mine.

They came to the house, left no mess, genuine part and was all fitted in about 45 minutes and took me on a test drive to demo the cruise control system.

£150, absolutely fantastic service, the owner and the fitter (Elliot) I had were very nice and I would thoroughly recommend them to anyone thinking to have cruise control fitted - no complaints or reservations whatsoever.

They're all ex VW mechanics and definitely know what they're doing. They also offer you a 2 year warranty on the parts and labour and will go to most places in the country.

the cruise control as a system is absolutely fantastic! That and fitting the arm rest have made my driving incredibly comfortable!

but yes, would thoroughly recommend Hayzy Dayz

Excellent, I dropped them an email recently, they are great for me, as I live in Hemel, where they are based, so no call out fees. Nice to know that they have got good feedback. Notice any rattles etc since they did what they did to the dash? They quoted me £165 and includes everything, as stated above. Think the misses is going to pay for this as a birthday present for me. Sweet!

its easy enough to fit yoursel. 2.5 - 3 hours should do it for a first timer.. once you have the right tools to hand its simple enough..

i wouldn't do it as
a) if i brake something it would be my fault
b) get no warranty
c) genuine part
d) airbags have to be disconnected
e) Vagcom needs to be used

They were fine. Like i say it took about 45 minutes for them and it is the genuine VW part. No rattles whatsoever as all they do is put in place of the indicator stalk and then enable through vagcom, there is nothing to rattle. if you mean any glitches, no glitches whatsoever. pick up on the accelerator for it is also very fast.

thoroughly recommend them

you have to on both petrol and diesel. take off the wipers, black plastic pannel then take out the wiper motor and linkage.
under that you should see a lid held down with two nuts. take this off and disconnect the black plug. the 4 pins go into this!

no the wires from the connector block under the wiper to the ecu is on the tdi's and not on the petrols.. you still need to hook up the wires from the new stalk to the black connector block
