Just got back from B&Q and Halfords and neither places had any of this stuff in grrrrr, I would prefer to use this than cut part of the cover.

Tried it, doesn't work for me :( it's quite tight under the brace so it doesn't offer enough to deaden the sound. Back to the drawing board...........Induction kit

Not really, something that isn't oily and gives a nice sound without losing performance (hopefully a small gain) would be nice.

well whatever you get will definately give you some gain, if you are increasing air flow there will most likely be a gain, as for sound, i dont know of one decent induction which does not give off a nice sound. all the best

Crafoo - any updates on what you've done?

My strut brace will be fitted next week, and on trial fitment looks like the engine cover is going to foul, but I'm not sure on the airbox yet, but it's best to get some research going in case I need to do anything.

Yeah, I started filing away some of the edge of the engine cover but it really wasn't ever going to get anywhere near clearing the brace so for the moment I have removed the engine cover altogether, however it still knocks against the air box when the car is first started, for me the only way to solve that is replaceing with another item, but for the moment money won't allow this so I will have to make do for the time being :( bit if a pain that a part made specifically for the car doesn't always fit right.
