Exactly - you need to modify a VXR to match a standard Cupra
As for Stage 3 Astra VXR's, when you conisder you need intercoolers, exhausts, intakes, remaps etc to get to the 290bhp they make, the fact that a simple remap gets better figures and better graphs on a Cupra, you realise the difference between the two cars. Add the same hardware upgrades that makes the Astra Stage 3 on to the Cupra, and you have 70bhp more in the Cupra.
I dont even really bother with Astra VXR's when they try it on any more as there is really no point, but when I do, I love seeing the look on their faces when they start to fall back because so many of their drivers truly do believe they are driving the fastest hot hatch on the road
I on the other hand am under no illusion that at some point soon, a new Focus RS will probably romp past me on the road/track somewhere.

One a turbod dc5 integra running 320hp with carbon bonnet and boot.
The other a mk2 golf GTI with 1.8T conversion running 270hp, said I didnt stand a chance gave him a head start for good measure, and afterwards I was like what happened matey![]()
