Looking good, it seems to be taking them forever to rebuild it, no doubt i'm sure there doing a good job but i bet your dying to get it back.

Are you doing anything with the cam belt tensioner to stop the belt snapping again ?

Yeah. Someone else is doing it.

Bit harsh isn't it :handbags:

At least the lad gave it a ago.
As far as i'm aware the reason behind the belt snapping is still a bit in doubt..... i'm just thinking maybe Danny never did anything wrong but was supplied with a duff cam belt tensioner.... or something along those lines.

Hopefully everything will be fine when it's back, but for me i would NEED to know what caused the failure - if only to prevent it again.

I feel bad for laughing at this comment. Only Phil would be so blunt haha

Didnt an allen key go through the cambelt at some point in its life? maybe one of the sprockets has some damage now..

Im sure Alex has checked everything thoroughly though.

Hahah phil you ****ing sheep shagger..I'm kinda used to the banter from phil lol had it for years lol welsh *******!!

Anyway yeah i agree with the spending money bit I done it all over again but have gona further this time, hence why I took it too Alex..it needed work I couldn't do...

The reason for it taking so long as I'm in no real rush and with Alex's just opening up Aks tuning he has a lot of work todo..and I mean a lot...it's he has took my engine to a whole new level..nothing has been unturned and everything has been checked within bentley spec...which I couldnt or know how too...

Smileys : gates racing belt, Ina Manuel tensioner, helix water pump, new bottom crank pulley/ bolt *and new cam head crank pulley :)...

Im guessing its part of the manual conversion. However He is sure going to have fun getting that metal engine mount bracket in ;)

Slots straight back in with the manual tensoner fitted :p

Whole other story with the hydraulic tensioner.

Its almost finished now. All the parts are in now ready to get it running next week.

I know about the hydraulic tensioner being different, Just be careful it doesn't add more tension to the belt once the idler roller is fitted.
I know my I.E one does.

Good luck with the run up, hopefully everything goes nice and smooth

It's nearly there folks,

Alex is just waiting for some parts to arrive for the charge pipe and my air filter from pipercross direct which we've had made to order...
Car is having a few extra bits to make it quicker :)...Aks tuning has also supplied me AEM tru boost electric boost controller for the car...it also matches my afr aem afr gauge :)...

He's also repairing the minor crack in my LCR rim as its leaking air,it's been doing that since I bought the car..o and he's also checked everything for a mot which he will but through and it's only a few bits to pass it...

Then I can tax it and enjoy the 3hr drive home..

Yeah but there's a lot of work gone in to the car...when I first spoke to Alex about him doing my car I explain to him that if it lets me down again i will break it...

So he's gone over everything and replacing parts that will cause me grief ...when I get it back I just wanna drive it and clean it...and just enjoy it..
