cost me £40 for a used motor that was @ garage, £30 to do it all, but when i removed the door card i missed place the window switch somewhere but ordered 1 now from a breakers on ebay.

SEAT wanted £86 + vat to look @ car & diagnose problem, £96 + vat for motor + labour so realy i save alot of money lol.

SEAT wanted £55 + vat for a rear window switch, i paid £13 delivered from breakers :)

so in my opinion when it comes to needing things shop around as SEAT will robb you blind lol

Hello - I've got the same problem on my drivers side rear door. So, replacing the motor brought the deadlocks back to life?

I've got as far as unscrewing all the nuts off the door card, but when I try to pull it off, the window and mechanism is attached (I've got manual winders in the back). I've read you need to line up the plastic nut that holds the window in then push it through until it drops into the door casing with a special tool. Did you have to do that, or am I missing something and it all comes off dead easily?

mate, honestly take it to someone who knows what there doing as there's a technique to doing it, i had a few people look @ mine 1st before i found someone who knew what they were doing, if your local to me i could pass the number on to you where they did mine, only expensive thing is the motor, £96 + vat from SEAT! i was lucky they had 1 off a octavia in from a previous job that wasn't need. & they only charged me £40 for it & £30 labour :)

superb!! I'm in brum too - kings norton. If you can let me have the place's name or number, that'd be fantastic - I'm pretty much at the end of my tether with it

i know what you mean with seat, phoned up to sort my leaky doors , they wanted almost £90+vat per Hr , and would need the car at leeast all day testing first before rectifying ,

thought fook it have a go , have done my 2nd rear door recently no more leaks

unsure to sort fronts out now or fix if/when they start

cool here's there number: jordan's - 01214578300, the guys wicked but you will have to get parts yourself tho i think because i had to, (but was in rush 4 car as i needed it) there in frankley mate.

Well, I may now have to change my name on here. I’m definitely not soggy any more and I’m very close to not being sad. So thanks for the info - I might have had to check into the Priory without it.

I took it to Jordan’s like you said – I’ll repeat the number as I was pretty impressed - 0121 457 8300. He reckoned he was able to get a long handled chisel down between the door and the door card off and give the exposed bit of the door mechanism a good clout and that got the door open.

He then fitted a new one I’d bought from TPS Trade Parts Specialists (40 Bracebridge Street in Aston, behind the VW Van dealership on the A34), which cost me £96.60 including the VAT.

He charged me £60 for labour, but he did also put it on the diagnostics and cleared down my airbag and engine management warning lights. So a top result!

I took it back for the MOT a couple of days later and they found that the lower suspension arm was flapping about – I’d had a new spring fitted (?) at Kwik Fit about eight months ago, so he may just have saved my life as well.

But got that fixed, and got through the MOT.

So I’ve now just got to send off my instrument cluster to try to get my speedo and milometer working again and I’ll have a fully functioning, dry car for the first time in the 5 years I’ve had it! It’s been autoemotional.

nice 1, there good there & would highly recommend them, as they do what they say there going to do, with good prices, & not a scamming garage like most :)
